battleground blitz q time 15-20 minutes then another couple minutes while the premade gets its team together. tell me again why im playing this game just to be cannon fodder. I guess the 3v3 one is the way to go. to bad tho cause i enjoy bg’s.
10-12 minute queue times this weekend as healer in 2200 mmr just for a coin flip if I will win or not.
Not fun.
I think the increased queue times are a direct result of the patch. As dps I was getting consistent 6-7 minute queues before 11.0.5 and consistent 10-12 after.
They mentioned some vague about trying to improve the quality of blitz matches with the MMR system so I am assuming this caused increased queue times.
Are queues really taking that long? Are you still in your placement matches? I played last night and the queues in the 2.8-3k mmr range were shorter, so that seems strange.
Y’all are just awful. First you complain about poor mmr match-ups because it prioritized creating games, and now your are complaining because the queues are longer due to more accurate matchmaking.
This is why devs hardly ever listen to players.
Are people “Premading” BGB?
blizz is killing PVP faster than ever in this expansion, with all the things they did, I’m sure they are short staffed too with all the recent lay offs
I really dont get the doomer mentality on the forums rn. This expac has been the most fun i’ve had in years with wow.
I think some of yall need to take a year break like i did, come back refreshed
Probably is because if we are being real here, blitz queues are already bordering on untenable and its early expac for a brand new flag ship ‘this is the future’ game mode. Barring some sort of unexpected change of course, then it does look like shes in big trouble in the long run. blitz outright dies if people don’t queue it.
anyway, i actually agree with you on the expac being good, and i skipped all of DF to recharge the batteries. just not surprised that people see the storm brewing on the horizon regarding blitz in particular
I assumed the main reason queue times got longer after the patch is because with solo shuffle MMR getting fixed, a lot of people were eager to play that game mode and work on rating there. Solo shuffle is still like 5 times more popular than BGB. I predict over time we’re going to see growth in BGB’s popularity as people from both the rated scene and from random battlegrounds become interested in it. I’m getting roughly 10 minutes queue times which is still infinitely better than 25 minutes queue times I used to get in shuffle.
It’s still early, and there is more content than Blitz. I think the queue time is still fine when I play my 80’s, up to a couple minutes for a healer, usually instant.
I haven’t played Blitz much last week and mostly leveled alts this weekend.
hope so but its pretty easy to imagine that we are at the peak peak of bgb. this is a highly successful expac, especially for pvp, and i just have a hard time seeing how bgb will actually grow from here. like if i had to bet money, its 65% on this being all time peak bgb.
Do you play alts? If yes, do you plan on doing Blitz on them? That is one way Blitz will stay relevant for a whole season. Additionally, I think there need to be some sort of Tournament from Blizzard to increase the mode visibility. There are players who enjoy PVP, who have no idea about Blitz.
Thats why big wig streamers last expansion talked about low player participation… They NEED players to queue up, they need players to farm… If there are no players to farm rating from, then there is no rating to sell.
RMT boosting when its this massive and out of control it runs off the player base, we ALL LOSE!
I rarely saw arguments about poor mmr match-ups, if at all. The majority of complaints were about evenly distributing classes on teams when possible, that shouldn’t increase queue times.
probably if they want it to be a flag ship game mode.
Im just speaking out of basic pragmatism here though. We can assume that players queuing any game mode peaks at the start of an expac. we’re exiting the honeymoon phase for blitz and getting to see what itll look like moving forward, and we’re probably still seeing part of that peak. its probably not dramatically growing from here outside of hard events such as expac final patch or a new expac.
This would absolutely increase queue times depending on how hard the matchmaking system tries.
Money boosters will never go away, but when Blizzard is active against them, they hide in the shadows, tone way down and players do not notice them. And participation is more active, the season is more ALIVE instead of dead.
Right now its the opposite, RMT boosters are rampant, out in the open not even hiding it any more. Players are not dumb, huge money price for the PC hardware, and learning curve just to play wow, they see whats going on. If players feel the matches are rigged, they quit, take their money to other gaming companies. This leads to DEAD seasons, low player participation… Exactly whats going on now…
Blizzard enforce your own rules, for the health of the game. Streamers are too dense to realize that a BIG player base is good for them too.
Here was the patch notes:
- Alongside prioritizing balanced average team ratings, the matchmaker will now try to prioritize balancing classes and specializations across teams if there are multiple of the same class / specialization in the game.
My interpretation—and what others have suggested—is that this change should aim to balance classes/specs between teams if, say, there are four rogues in the match. This would mean splitting them 2-2 across both teams.
The only factor increasing queue times would be the mmr changes: Alongside prioritizing balanced average team ratings
I haven’t noticed a difference in the quality of my games with the latter change.
