Not a big enough buff

First of all Fury has one of if not the worst tier set bonus in the game. Other classes gain 5-10% damage from their tier sets, Fury? about 2% increase.

Second, the class hits like a wet noodle outside of cooldowns, I understand its a burst class but they feel almost unplayable outside of CDs

Third, Fury is one of the worst scalling classes this expansion. My rogue 13 ilvls lower should not sim on the same level as my Fury warrior but he does and that makes absolutely no sense.

In conclusion, PLEASE do something about the tier set and off CD damage

Thing is, they dont actualy know what they want to do with Fury. They dont know if its a Burst or Consistent dmg class, and you see that by they reworking Reckless Abaddon to work outside cds.
And even with cds, is not that much of a big deal.

They have to take Fury to the workshop and rethink what to do with it

The biggest detriment to Fury is that it’s not balanced for two one hand weapons, and then EXTRA good when you can get two-handers.

All that extra strength for two big weapons, washed out

It’s not a bonus if it only brings you to level.

I saw a fury warrior burst over 400K DPS last nite in raid. Several times.

I wondered if my Details! would break

Burst is insane, that’s about it. I can burst around 150-180k single target during my opener but it’ll drop once spear and infinite ravager rage is gone
then the other classes take over. Fury does wonder on AoE encounters though (See: Dathea, council when you don’t get screwed by people with lightning debuff over and over, Rasz add phases, etc)

Fury by design is simply built to be a Mythic+ spec, where burst is incredibly important and is able to be utilized often as you move from pack to pack. If a player wants more consistent or sustained damage, they are expected to make the transition to Arms.

The issue with this is that demanding players to swap to a different spec to be viable in a specific sort of endgame activity is excessively stupid and defeats the entire point of having talent trees that provide “player choice”. If a player does not like how Arms plays and just prefers Fury and then you tell them they have to go Arms for most Raid fights, its a good way to alienate your players. I’m not saying that Fury should be king of both burst and sustained damage, but the spec shouldn’t be so far behind Arms in sustained damage that the choice is either deal with having low damage in raids or go Arms. This is particularly apparent when you realize that Arms also has fairly strong burst itself while being king of sustained, yet Fury has next to no sustained while being king of burst. There’s a pretty big gap there that should have been addressed shortly after raid opened and we started seeing exactly how bad Fury is for the vast majority of the fights.

You’re right, people shouldn’t have to switch spec to enjoy different kinds of content. This is why I demand prot be made a top tier spec for arenas! Or are we picking and choosing who gets special treatment now?

Can you point to me on the AOE fight where fury warriors are performing well?

Am I missing something here? Why do people keep saying fury has good AOE? Can people please update their game to current expansion before commenting? Where is the inevitable moron saying this is all okay because warriors scale really well with gear? We need more people making comments that don’t reflect current content in the least.

You missed it. Another thread already had that in it. verbatim no less.

They need ot get rid of single minded fury and stick with what the class should be two 2h weps. Replace those talents with better ones to help boost damage fury over all is terrible in mythics compared to other dps. Utility is Garbo compared to rogues and even monks. Fury utility used to be its damage but now thats not even there.

No thank you. Some of us like SMF and don’t care if it’s 2% less damage.

Yeah, I shouldn’t have phrased it like that. The burst IS insane and Fury does perform well in M+, raid not so much. Way to not be able to hold a conversation without being vitriolic though.

Fury cleave will always be crippled by the reality of having to use our weakest ability (Whirlwind) every 4 GCDs to cleave onto 4 additional targets for only half damage. Not to mention this is a two talent investment.

Meanwhile, things like Outlaw, Windwalker, and Havoc have their GOD-tier cleave built into their rotations, often with little cost, or already being part of their ST rotation. In most cases, it’s soft capped pretty high. Fury only has that in cooldowns, with everything else that is actual damage being limited to 5-targets from Meat Cleaver. We kinda had it better in Shadowlands thanks to Merciless Bonegrinder (and also Ignore Pain), but these are tools that only belong to Arms now.

I like the buffs, but I will always be bitter that we must Whirlwind constantly, and it feels like crap to do that.

Is this you? Because if it is, don’t get mad that somebody called out something that you were blatantly wrong about.

No we also aren’t good at M+ either. If a group is filling their DPS slots, warriors would always be last priority with a significant gap between us and the next worst class at that.

AOE: Warrior burst aoe may look like some fancy stuff but we fall off a cliff real damned quickly. Once spear and ravager fall off we do next to no AOE. Outside of burst our AOE barely competes with our ST damage. Rogues, WW, DKs, DHs and Arcane mages might not reach the peaks of burst that we do but they come close without falling off that anywhere near as hard with their AOE.

The average trash pack in M+ lasts anywhere between 30-45 seconds, that leaves warriors completely dead in the water anywhere between 50%-66% of the time. Whirlwind/Meat grinder does entirely too little damage to ever justify bring a dps warrior to a M+ key. That means the burst ends up just being for show, especially considering how short lived it is, only lasting about 10 seconds.

AOE cap: With the end of AOE caps in SL, Blizzard has returned to tuning M+ around larger pack sizes. Sure the average pack size is still 4-5 mobs at a time but numerous dungeons go beyond that in certain parts.

All of the trash around the Overgrown Ancient in Algeth’ar Academy as well as the boss itself is the perfect example. How would you propose a M+ team consisting of 3 fury warriors defeat OA on tyrannical week? A warrior team would have a considerably harder time on this fight than any other group consisting of 3x of the same class/spec, and even if you only bring 1 fury warrior, that one player is going to act as a ball and chain holding back the rest of the group even if equally skilled and geared. The fact that our already incredibly weak sustained aoe damage is hard capped on fights like this is just icing on the turd cake that is our current class design.

ST: Do I even need to say anything? Going from SL to DF we lost all of our strengths and completely failed to better our weaknesses.

Utility: Battle Shout and Rallying Cry. Battle Cry is still at 50% effectiveness, why is was nerfed in SL we may never know. Rallying Cry is considerable weaker from where is was in SL considering how strong the Rally Soulbind was. We lack an AOE stun that is reasonably attainable, no hard CC, lack one of the two top tier utilities that are Lust/Brez. Spell Reflect has been completely neutured compared to how strong it was in SL M+ dungeons, only able to use it on the oddball random secondary target spell casts and if we make a massive risk in taunting a boss. We had a chance at getting Skull Banner back but that was ripped away from us before Beta had ended.

Warriors are in an all around worse place than we were in any given tier of SL where we were already a pretty low performing class. We came out the gate swinging those first 2 weeks but we fell off real hard and unfortunately some posters like yourself like living in the past. We are one of the worst performing overall dps class in both raid and M+, with fury currently being the 2nd worst individual spec in raid. I complained about where we were last expansion too, but at least we had a niche. What can even be said positively about fury right now? Bursting for 8 seconds then sustaining for next to nothing has no real applications.

Why do you like it because makes you feel like a worse version of a rogue using 1h weapons?

I’m a tiny gnome who prefers tiny weapons. I do bring some big D though don’t doubt me.

I really want to make a joke, but better to just not. lol.

I still think they should give us old school “Battle Cry,” again and rework it to be lust/heroism.

It’s a lot more than 2%

Absolutely.
Give SMF to arms let them choose between a two hander or DW.

Pretty sure it was between 5% and 10% leaning closer to 10%, it’s night and day. I did sim it when I was around 400ilvl and it was a big enough to see it wasnt even in the same ballpark. SMF is ok for RPG in Elwynn Forrest.
