Normalize pvp gear

Carries and boosts have completely ruined the pvp ladder integrity. I’m tired of seeing streamers in the 1700s. Normalize the pvp gear.

That won’t stop boosts or carries in any way though.

I disagree.

The reason boosts and carries are possible are because of the huge power gaps caused by gear. If gear was normalized then the difference would be reduced to skill

Very few players are skilled enough to solo 2 vs 1 without a significant gear advantage

It will discourage boosts because carriers will no longer have a huge power gap to use to carry with. And without the high ilvl rating locked PvP gear to boost for, it removes reason to boost. People will only boost for titles and bling.

Remove pvp gears. Let everyone compete in the same level. For example just give everyone 35% vers.

Let only skill decides.

We tried that once and let’s not try that again

How about we revert back to the old two tier system we used to have that worked for the majority of the games history before they randomly depleted it

Praise LORD ION!!!

He has like honor level 6 last i heard.

he really knows what’s up with pvp bro.

Just add some recolors that unlock after higher ratings.

PvP resilience helped a lot.

They tried normalizing PVP Gear with templates in Legion. It doesn’t seem they succeeded. Everyone complained.

The main source of complaints were the Raider elites, which explains why the devs immediately snapped to attention and did as they demanded.

Like I said, Everyone. The casteless have to voice.

i truly enjoyed legion pvp. It wasn’t perfect. But I enjoyed it a lot more that I enjoyed bfa, or Shadowlands pvp.

There were problems with that system that could have been addressed. But they chose to abandon it instead of dealing with those issues. It remained as is throughout the expansion.

I don’t think raiders were doing all that much PvP in Legion. It wasn’t until BfA when the system was switched to “the team with the best PvE gear wins”, and certain essences required honor.

I say, we do this. Then, if pvp still sux, we got back to templates but with customizable stats.

In my opinion, it seemed like the people complaining about templates just didn’t like that they couldn’t have done more with them. I think templates could have worked way better than BFA and SL PvP gearing if they actually addressed the issues instead of just abandoning it.

Legion PvP was great because I could level a character, and immediately go arena, and it was fantastic. I hate the amount of gate keeping just to be able to PvP and not be a hindrance to my team right now.

They don’t even have to go back to templates. They implemented a buff that they can enable with the flick of a switch that sets everyone to a static ilvl while keeping secondary stat choices the same. I’d take the Legion implementation of templates in a heartbeat though. WoD gearing too, though I don’t really see the point in using a system where you aren’t in BiS for half the season and you still have to catch up on gear. PvP should just be an even playing field from the start IMO.

This is true. The complaints about wanting to have stat customization are valid. I’ve noticed a lot of people that complain about templates didn’t actually play Legion though. Or played the first season and thought it was garbage so they didn’t play the second half of the expansion where you could literally hit max level, do a world quest or two for enough AP to get all your base traits and head straight into competitive PvP. I got so many elite sets in Legion on classes I never played before then simply because of how simple it was to play alts. The benefits for the casual base that only does unrated are huge too.

Same. This is the main reason I would kill for it to come back. You could swap on the fly, and the field felt fine. It took so little to be able to actually hit cap, grab a friend, and go play.

Agreed. Something I had suggested more than once was rather than every 10 item level just granting a flat increase to the template, they should have given points, and we should have been able to put those points into stats we would have liked in another interface. This would have been a simple and elegant fix to the complaints because people could build their characters in a way which made sense for them while keeping the integrity of templates and having a predictable curve so damage could be more appropriately tuned for PvP.
