Something I’ve noticed coming back and trying to grind up is how out of whack the MMR system is when you take into consideration that higher rating rewards better gear. If you go 50/50 in your first 10 games you’ll be playing at around 1800 MMR almost always, at least that’s how it’s been on the 4 characters I’ve been messing around on. But the people in that bracket have gear that’s like 20 Ilvls higher than you’re unrated conq gear, and even worse if you didn’t buy the full set of conq on your main. This system makes sense in a game like LOL because putting you at the MMR that matches your skill level doesn’t have any benefit based on other factors, you start every game at the same power regardless of previous accomplishments. But in WOW it just feels like the game is stacking disadvantages on top of each other, and the closer you get to the MMR you “Deserve” the more hopeless the games feel. If you’re going to leave the massive grinds and gear disparities I think you should at least configure the MMR system to take your current Ilvl into account.
Mmr is fine, if you 50/50 at 1800 then thats where you belong. Being undergeared while in that bracket is a gearing issue, not a mmr issue.

That’s my whole point, the two systems are at odds with each other. Fix one or fix the other, I’d prefer to fix the gearing, but they’re on record saying that system is working as they intend it to.
Ya no, its not fix one or fix the other. Its only fix the gearing issue.
I agree, they don’t.
gear isnt part of the mmr system.
MMR only put you where you belong depending of your winrate.
MMR is fine, remove all rankable gear and put one honor gear with 249ilvl in pvp and one conquest gear with 259ilvl in pvp.
