I don’t think Elves need non-glowing eyes, but Blizzard has really been overdoing it with the eyeglow. A bunch of races that have little reason for glowing eyes now have them.
Zandalari Trolls (remember what they looked like in PreBC & WotLK?), Mag’har Blackrock Orcs (Go check the Blackrock NPCs in WoD, regular eyes!) etc.

Elves had regular eyes in WC2.
Alleria had no pupils in WC2. Only Troll Berserkers had Tusks.

Well, with the introduction of half elves in TWW, We may see some of this customization coming to the character creator.

I want glowier eyes! 
Like the original golden eyes we got for Belves before they nerfed the hell out of the glow so hard, it now just looks like diseased yellow eyes that someone peed into. 
- Plus they’re elves.
I’d rather not have them made more human-like than they already are …

I mean, there’s not really any reason to not give them non-glowing eyes. They love showing elves with normal eyes in cinematics. Even the cinematic using the ingame graphics showing High elf Sylvanas had her using normal blue eyes.
I think it would be nice.

Ill trade you some non glowing human eyes for some glowing elf eyes. I’d love a glowing purple for my human mage and glowing gold for my human paladin.

I believe canonically elf eyes are different on purpose, they can’t just have human eyes. But if we’re getting rounded ears as customization options for half-elf, it makes perfect sense for them to have more human-esque iris now.
They’re more like humans with distant elf ancestry. Literally just human models with short pointy ears.

But, wait, we’re getting half-elves in TWW? We’ve seen them elsewhere: vareesa’s kidlets and Arator, though the twins weren’t in game (I don’t think), and Arator used Belf looks.
This is something I would like to explore further.
Nozdormu had to bless Nordrasdil for the night elves to be immortal. But with Amirdrassil it worked in the reverse and blessed the aspects.
It’s never outright acknowledged in a confirmation or denial, but night elves are poised to at least have had some of that lustor finally returned to them. Maybe not necessarily in the same way though.
