You can run dungeons just the way you want right now, without Blizzard changing anything. Just get some of your friends and enter the dungeon the old-fashioned way, by walking through the entrance. You can also place an ad in the group finder for people who are interested in doing a dungeon slowly and you might find people doing just that.
What you’re asking for is for Blizzard to enforce your preferred playstyle on other people. You don’t need to do that, you just need to realise that random dungeon finder is maybe not meant for you.
Listen 98% of the people i have tanks Normal, heroic and mythic want bang them put and move on to the next. If they can make short time of it amd get it done quick they will.
If you want to go pull by pull, try tanking it yourself and set the pace but 9/10 time the dps will get bored and start pulling for you.
In otherwords, if you want to go sightseeing through a dungeon bring start your own group with friends to get it done.
Exactly, and these are usually the same people complaining there isn’t enough content, because they burned through it as quickly as possible, instead of just going at an even pace, and enjoying the game. I know, I know, it’s “Not just a game” and “It’s serious, not fun”
Adding the stupid dragon gliding gimmick to that one dungeon was bad imo. People flying off bum rushing leaving people behind, some folks have a rough time completing dungeon quests. Rushing through stuff in this game has always been a thing to an extent. It has just got a lot worse over the years. Part of the reason the game has seen a decline was this constant go go rush through everything imo.
I’ve been playing classic so I haven’t done retail dungeons in a few years, did my first dragonflight normal leveling up and I had my fill. I had never even done the dungeon, and 2 days in the group was running it like a M+. There needs to be a separate queue for players that want a more casual new player friendly group, and players who don’t want to play with us lol
Once again, the vocal minority is crying on the forums until they get what they want, and ruin the fun for the rest of us. I smashed out numerous runs at “Mach speed”, and nobody complained once. Everyone got their bonus XP, their starter loot, and it was all painless in less than 15 minutes.
I hate how there is no strategy to dungeons anymore. Like, the trash packs and bosses weren’t enough for mechanics. They had to put a timer on it. Really really loved old TBC and Cata dungeon A LOT. Just make the bosses each drop loot and the reward per boss significant to run them. Not a 15 min face roll fest with an occasional interupt and stun. Not very fun. Used to have to banish, fear and enslave mobs back in the day myself. And pick apart packs. Don’t have to make dungeons take an hour. Reduce the amount of trash of course. But at least make us think a bit and take our time. Anxiety sucks on mplus honestly since I can’t take a break once the timer starts.
If that were true, so many wouldn’t have unsubbed from the game. A true minority actually likes the current state of the game and it’s appealing to just watch streamers do it since nobody else actually likes or can do dungeons like that. Def not appealing for the “majority” of the player base. And subscription numbers absolutely reflect that.
I do them when I am forced to do them for content purposes. I just want to get the final parts of the plot line solved.
I’m more than geared enough to do mythics but I would really rather not have to do anything difficult when I’m just trying to get through content.
And it would be really nice if I could actually you know, listen to what the NPCs are saying so that I actually get that whole plot line thing without a tank tearing off into another room and me having to follow lest the unpulled trash kill me.
As a note we actually have no way of stopping this from happening as streamers. I don’t tank and if the tank is going to pull the entire instance I don’t get a choice in that matter.

People want to level quickly, don’t force them down to the pace of the slowest people.
If you want to do what is basically a custom run then embrace the social side of the MMO and make some friends who view the game like you do, do dungeons with them.
i just do quest for now until my sub ends. I don’t join dungeons or raids because i don’t want to deal with the esports gogogo folks. That attitude ruined the game for me.
Who cares it’s a game just play how they do it’s to level and you complain there’s a lot more things in this world to complain about than a video game. You’ll be fine. You can’t force everyone to play how you want it the tank pulls on a normal going for the satchel then let them who tf cares. More gold for us.
