tldr; do something to stop the rushing in dungeons
so we’ve been racing against the clock with normal dungeons for years now and people are really getting sick of it. normal dungeons are very basic, entry level dungeons yet other players expect everyone to run at super, sweat sonic speeds.
so i suggest for now at the start of the dungeon, place a barrier or something and do not remove it until everyone is loaded in. this will at least get everyone ready, especially those with slower loading computers. i’m personally getting sick of it so much that i’m probably not going to bother with dungeons myself anymore. i barely have any idea of what the dungeons look like because i have to roll my face in the keyboard to keep up. it isn’t fun and blizzard needs to do something about it so we can have fun and lessen the verbal abuse. i would go as far as possibly having blocked pathways to stop from pulling way more than they should.
tldr; do something to stop the rushing in dungeons.

Normal dungeons are for leveling. There is no reason to ever do one after that. Of course people want to do them quickly.

it’s not quick when you wipe every now and again because you can’t wait for people mate. 3 wipes crunches into your time and then you may have people dropping the dungeon. we are 2 weeks in the expansion give people a chance.

I quit playing healer in dungeons because of it. If they keep it up there won’t be any healers left. I’m not trying to get sweaty healing a normal dungeon run. To any healers still running dungeons like that, my suggestion is to only heal the tank. This is a strategy I’ve used many times before with tanks that pull to much. If the tank can’t keep aggro on the 500 mobs he pulled, then the dps dies and that’s the tank’s fault. When the dps dies, the trash takes forever to get through. Maybe they’ll eventually figure out that pulling the entire dungeon at once isn’t faster.

Idk how you can wipe in a normal dungeon.

Could you be any more hyperbolic?

no problem, you didn’t read the topic so bye bye thanks for the stay.
to book, they won’t have any tanks either. both sides, even dps get crapped on because they aren’t there yet to down the mobs. this effects everyone, but dps a little less. ive already left dungeons so gl finding another heal lol. there goes your precious time i suppose!

That’s easy: Take the augment runes out of the reward bags.

i am unaware of what these are or do.
If you get the same reward for completing the dungeon in 10 min as you do for completing it in 45, people will try to complete it in 10.

It’s because most people level alts through dungeons… dungeons they have done dozens and dozens of times already.
The quicker you clear a dungeon the quicker you get your Alts levelled. You don’t like going fast, some of us don’t like taking breaks between every pull and making 60-70 take 10x longer than it needs to be because the tank is RPing

They’re used almost exclusively by high-end players, in large quantities, but are primarily available from chain-running low-end dungeons for the goodie bags that contain the augment runes.
It’s a stupid system where Blizzard bribes high-end players to do low-end dungeons, who massively overgear those low-end dungeons and want to chain-run them as quickly as possible.
Why else do you think people who massively outgear easy dungeons are doing them over and over again?

The dragonflight normal dungeons are old content. Shouldve played at launch.

I’m 99% sure it’s to boost the completion metrics for LFD/LFR
Would anyone be against this? This is a FFXIV feature I really want in.
My feelings still hurt from when I was new 2 years ago and got kicked because I didn’t load in instantly…and I was the healer lol.

They’ve said as much. Blizzard has stated that they bribe high-end players into LFR with augment runes to (as they put it) “smooth out the runs”.
Which is some particularly colorful phrasing, depending on how you look at it.

I remember hearing about a high end geared group that tried all queueing for LFD at the same time, while on friends lists with each other, and all ended up in separate groups. Their conclusion was the system distributes the over-geared players for maximum coverage so that more groups have someone to pull a hard carry.

yes this will help the slower computers. i just hurry and click the button when queue pops so i hope i load in time. i am just tired of it is all
I don’t have a problem with tanks rushing, especially when it’s a dungeon which I’m doing just for the CtA bonus.
The problem is when we are not all on the same page.
The other day I was transformed into a tree and NO ONE was able to use dispel.
The tank didn’t notice and the 3DPS died, then the adds went after me.
Or the tanks do massive pulls in Brackenhide Hollow and don’t have enough stun/silence to stop the fear and end up attracting even more enemies.
Many times the problem is not in the tanks, but rather in the 3 DPS that don’t know how to use Silence.
As Holy Priest the only thing I have is a 1 minute Stun cd and many times the enemies are immune. So I have no choice but to see how they finish casting the fear.

ok this makes a lot of sense, thank you brewa for contributing the thread. this is just like in wrath bags here where people are rushing for the bags that drop the mount chance.
