Normal dungeons continue to be the most toxic element of the game for me

In past expansions, my preferred method for leveling up alts has been to queue for random dungeons. But it’s getting to the point where I really dread doing that anymore. Every single one is more frustrating than fun, and it’s due to one simple reason: the way tanks pull nowadays.

In every normal dungeon I’ve done in TWW, the tank just runs ahead and pulls everything he can reach, with complete disregard for the rest of the group. It’s frustrating as a healer that I can’t keep up due to lack of mobility and/or needing to stand still to cast, and if I do keep up, I don’t contribute in any meaningful way.

In my opinion, tank specs are far too durable, and far too mobile for the good of the game. I completely understand that tanks need and deserve to have some agency over their own survivability, but when they can run the dungeon without paying attention to what the rest of the group is doing (or not doing), that’s an indication of poor design.

The game below level cap is entirely a joke as far as design goes. Tanks can solo everything. Level 11 twinks are the best characters in Timewalking. And you don’t learn anything about anything until you are doing keys and raids. Even at level cap it’s a joke until mythics and raids.

99% of the game can be completed by a monkey and people are somehow surprised by a lack of skill when those monkeys get to the 1% that can’t be.

It’s terrible design.

I don’t even do dungeons until level cap and even then it’s usually Heroic/Mythic only. Normal dungeons are worthless.

I am so glad I only run follower dungeons, or with friends/guildmates. Most randos in this game think they are funny.

Do harder content. You’re complaining that easy mode exists.

Just use instant casts, if your tank dies because they require focused healing that’s on them.

just do them with followers

Leveling content is beyond “easy mode”. Character Power is just ridiculous in comparison to the content for a majority of levels. 10-70, you’re going to be OP from about 10-45 or 50. Some specs, like Holy Priest specced for DPS, are basically god until like 65. Then at 70 you run into the issue of many people leveling being alts with DF Patch gear, which makes them basically god again until about 76.

So from 1-50 and 70-76 you’re blatantly overtuned for the content, even with it being easy mode.

The issue isn’t that the content is easy. That’s fine. It’s that Blizzard has completely given up on making it a reasonable experience. It’s basically not part of the game at all to them, so as long as people can complete it they’re happy.

And, yeah. Success should 100% be a given in this level of content. I get that. But people should expect to have to look at their screen a little bit and that’s not really the case most of the time.

Well duh… can’t queue for heroics until I’m iLevel 567, and nobody’s going to invite me to a mythic until I’m at least 580. What I’m saying is that the first stepping stone to that content is broken.

Oh, and we’re already to the point where there are no delves in group finder except T8.

That’s all of the game outside of max level end game pillars. They’ve butchered it to the point that I think they just don’t know what to do so they threw their hands up and walked away from it.

People just need to slog through it, get over the max level hump, and then sink or swim in the tiny bit of the content garden they still tend to.

Speaking as a monkey, I’m a bit offended by this.

Allow me to introduce you to mythic +.

always run in front of the tank, hit nothing until the tank stops and don’t stop ever…it’s actually kinda fun…

Is this your main? If so gearing can be kind of a nuisance.
T8 bountiful delves are great if you can do them, a lot of classes can at 560+ they just take time.

Weekly quests are good for getting Vet Gear, with Timewalking this week you can potentially get a full set of champion gear if you ask people in raid to give you items they dont need.

Finally if you have a single geared friend, they can also be in a relationship, that friend can put together a normal raid and carry you along

People can’t just admit. Dungeons suck in WOW now. It’s OK to not like something, it’s just a game.

Yes, this is my main, and I’m well aware of other paths for gearing. The fact that a work-around is available for a given problem does not nullify the fact that the problem exists. My stated problem is that dungeons simply aren’t fun anymore as a way of leveling up a new character. They used to be fun, but something changed. I think what changed is that tanks don’t need to coordinate with the other group members. If you accept that one simple statement as being true, I don’t see how you get away from the conclusion that it’s a glaring design flaw.

And this is a problem why?

As someone that just leveled my warrior from 70 as prot running tw dungeons my goal is to get in and out fast.

You can always leave the group if you’re that bothered.

Someone hasn’t been to the plague lands.

I stated why right after the part you quoted. It takes all the fun out of running the dungeon.

Anything harder, people might fail.

People are hilariously bad at the game.

And they’re probably overgeared.
