Noob who wants to play as Dark Iron Dwarf

Hello. I am a complete noob to Wow. I have played it once in the past. When i tried it. got to lev 5 and never played it again until recently when i got into its lore. I have wanted to pick it up in the past. But being in school prevented it. Now with work i can. And in the lore the Dark Iron Dwarves (Dwarfs?) Are my favorite dwarf clan and faction in the WoW universe, They reminds me a lot of my favorite faction from warhammer AoS. And i like a lot how they look and lore. Ok enough history. Let’s get to the meat of the question.

Question: As a noob i would like to start my adventure as a Dark Iron Dwarf. And i know i need BFA expansion to have them. But what more? is there an easy way for me to instantly play as them and get the feeling of WoW as one of them? And not pick them up as a highly skilled “veteran player” (My friend said i could use the level booster to get to level 110 on my dwarf hunter i started with and than unlock them)

Sorry but unfortunately there are a wide amount of unlock requirements for the allied races, including the dark iron. To even begin working on them you must be 120 on an alliance character.

Yeah, he told me i needed to be 120. But what more? (since if i boost it to lev 110 with the booster in BFA) I assume lots of grinding for something. Kill all expansion bosses? (Lich King etc)

It’s mostly rep farming. You have to complete each alliance zones storyline from bfa (I think), you need to farm for rep for the alliance war campaign, complete the storyline you unlock from it. Then you need to do a short quest and poof you’ll unlock it. The whole ordeal takes about 2 weeks after you reach 120

ah, that isn’t to bad… I could like Jump to that with the boost. avoid all story in the game. get my Dark Iron and experience the entire game from lev 1 to 120 the real way. Could that work?

Yes that could work, the only thing I’ll add is that there is a TON of story inbetween that, way more zones than are meant to be experienced in one run. Also Dark iron start at level 20

in the run to get the reputation? or zones before the quests? Sorry if i am dense

Instead of adding races that are playable instantly like they did in the past, Dark Irons are some of the “allied races” that must be unlocked through gameplay. You will not be able to skip all content, and frankly you might become sick of some of it by the time the race is available.

Some of the allied races can be unlocked at level 110, but Dark Irons were added more recently and require doing level 120 content. All allied races are unlocked by doing a related rep achievement and a quest achievement, for Dark Irons specifically, it’s reach Exalted with 7th Legion and complete the “Ready for War” campaign quests. You can use the 110 boost to skip much of the game, but you’ll have to do BfA content. After you’ve unlocked the race, you also have to “recruit” them through a faction-specific level 120 quest scenario, then you can start making characters of that race. As mentioned however, they start at level 20, not level 1. You can go back to see some of the 1-20 content if you want, but not all will be available to other races of your faction. There isn’t a single 1-120 storyline either, and you definitely won’t see everything along the way without making a special effort because of how fast leveling goes now. You could use a single character, or try out different classes and level them through different areas.

Use your free boost that comes with BfA to get to 110 and unlock them by getting to 120 finishing the War Campaign. You can ignore a lot of the other max level content - including most reputations. Just grind out. It should take you maybe 20-30 hrs to level and get the rep? Something like that if I remember correctly.

20-30 hours is a bit of a weird way to put it. You just have to run the war campaign reputation which each day will take like an hour at max, you can not farm it past that point. It takes about a week or two of that farming.
