So I just started playing a week or so ago. My lock is lvl 21. While I don’t have any problems questing I was curious has ti what my rotation is ? I’m afflic and basically cast haunt corrupt agony life drain (master channeler). Then I just wand till I need to refresh.
Should I be using shadow bolt or any other spells?
Any advice or tips is appropriated.

You have it right. Shadow bolt isn’t all that mana efficient. Once you hit 25 though, I’d strongly recommend switching to destro with fire runes, as it vastly outperforms shadow in terms of dps (This is mainly due to fights being quite short in BFD, where shadow would theoretically outperform fire in the long run)
No you are doing it right. Just wand, shadow bolt isn’t mana efficient enough to be worth casting, especially without talents boosting it.
Just use shadow bolt when nightfall procs. You should be speced for one point in nightfall on the affliction tree. That’s the only time you should be using shadow bolt.
Higher prarses will also use incinerate and immolate after cursing. Depending on the length of the battle, you should be life tapping instead of wanding.
But if we are just talking about non-elites, then all you’re really going to need is “CoA, corruption, life drain, haunt, incinerate, then immolate.” Then even out your mana and life with life tap and wand a couple times if it’s not dead yet. You want to make enough room with life tap in your HP bar for when haunt expires and you get that HP back. The fire spells being unnecessary for easier kills.
If done efficiently, you will end the fight with full mana and just enough room in your HP bar for haunt’s expiration to top off your HP. So you will have full HP and full mana going directly into the next fight.
You can probably skip agony. Haunt, corruption, drain life, wand. If you are fighting 2 mobs, then you can agony the first one and drain life the 2nd one.

my rotation usually is just Haunt, Corruption, drain life, agony, wand. i drop agony like 90% of the time cause it wont stay up for long unless on a boss fight or im trying to “burst”
other then that play what you like i play affliction mostly for wpvp and eventually pvp but in PvE dungeons it kinda sucks things just die so fast. idk how runes will affect warlocks in p2 but i assume same old. destro will be better then affliction. maybe if they gave affliction a rune to act like what druids have/had in retail that sped up their HoTs then they can compete but i think that wouldn’t happen especially with pvp unless it replaces master channeler
Affliction is superior for leveling, questing, pvp and farming as haunt is incredibly powerful in damage and health returns. Unfortunately its complete trash in raiding. Also you should be using Incinerate as your filler, shadowbolt is trash and burns mana, with a worse cast time. Its better than everlasting corruption and shadowbolt combined for actual damage.

This felpickle. Try pvping in your fire destro set, see how that goes. Try leveling without affliction, doesn’t quite work.
You eventually switch out of affliction for raiding specifically, but ONLY for raiding.

TBH I just play PVP spec and runes in the raid and my dmg is fine.
The life tap rank we have right now is pathetic so playing a big mana consumption build like Lake of Fire is miserable. Unless you go all in on the +firedamage BOEs your dmg is gonna be trash as Destro anyway so just enjoy the fun spec. P2 is coming really soon.
Honestly, warlocks biggest issue is a lack of good preraid bis. Wonderful class when decked out in BFD gear…
Struggles to get much done without it, and competes for gear with…PRIESTS of all things. Nevermind the balance druids, mages, and your occasional ele shaman.
Affliction has incredible sustain while leveling, you should have you succubus out for damage.

-drain life (w/ master channeler)
-Corruption
-CoA
-wand
Grab 2-3 mobs at a time doing this. Your drain life and haunt will keep you 70%+ hp while doing this.

If affliction is crap due to things dying too fast doesn’t that mean overall it doesn’t matter since things die anyways? I’m more concerned about solo leveling and PvP.
Instances and raids are easy af apparently
Incinerate > chaos bolt > incinerate > maybe wand/incinerate again? ded
