Noob question about my DK's sword

Hi everyone. I hope this isn’t a silly question, but I am getting back into WoW after a lengthy hiatus to raise my disabled son. When I started back up again a coupel days ago I saw the big changes to the game and to the DK class in Azeroth.

My question is this: Since legacies got nuked on my Blades of the Fallen prince, does that mean Runes of Razorice and Fallen Crusader no longer work? Do I have to totally replace my swords with the new stuff that drops in Azeroth? I went thru a lot of work to get those swords just the way I liked them and now I am afraid they are useless. Can anybody clear this up for me? Thank you so much.

Pretty much, yes, you replace the artifact weapons from Legion with new ones from BfA.

The artifact weapons were a Legion xpack specific thing and they don’t carry over. The story was they got drained at the end of the xpack as we used them to suck the corruption out of Sargeras’s blade that impaled Azeroth. It burnt the weapons out.

The good news is, a lot of the artifact weapon traits and abilities were and are incorporated into new abilities or talents in BfA (same with some of the iconic legendary armor item traits).

Now, your DK runes of razorice and fallen crusader are still your go-to enchants for any new weapons you get for Frost, you’ll continue to apply those to any new weapons you get.

But the artifact weapons are gone once you have better. Once you have a higher ilvl weapon(s) from BfA, you’ll want to replace them. Looking at your armory right now, it looks like you hung on to using them, and by now you have probably had better ones from quests. They’re your lowest ilvl items by a fair amount, and you’ll want to fix that.

Thanks you Lorsaire, that’s great advice. Cheers, mate!

Razorice and Fallen Crusader have always worked and always will work on the Blades of the Fallen Prince.

Don’t forget, you can transmog any appearance for the weapons that you have unlocked!
