Noob Question about Imps

I’m back after a 4 year hiatus. I see several Warlocks running around with 10+ imps. How? What spell or skill combo do I need to get that many imps?

Tyrant Cooldown extends imp duration

So you pop out say 6 and tyrant, while tyrant is out you can stack more imps

Also higher levels of haste

9 is fairly routinely doable in combat. 12 with Horned and even more with tyrant. Get some freak powers in torghast and my personal top was around 50.

They also increased imp out-of-combat duration by a good bit, so that probably contributes to why you see so many running around.

I’m going to assume your question is more basic than the above replies answer:

Demonology warlocks have a skill called “Hand of Gul’dan” that summons wild imps based on how many shards you have when you cast it. You can have many imps up at once, and depending on what other cooldowns you use to extend their lifespans (measured in seconds, regardless) you can have armies. If you do Torghast as demonlogy you can have upwards of 20 at a time!

technically not measured in seconds unless outside of combat. in combat they are measured in energy. each firebolt costs the imp some energy, when oom they despawn. i mean this is pedantry as most of the time they effectively behave like it’s a raw timer, but if we’re breaking it down already might as well be exact.

Just a point you missed, the maximum number of imps you can summon in one cast is 3 no matter how many more shards you have.
