Hey guys I’m here today because I’m trying to figure out what classes have the easiest time doing aoe compared to the more complex setup ones like spreading a bunch of dots etc out properly. What do you guys think? I seem pretty solid single target wise but no matter what ive tried so far my aoe isnt the best. Any tips?

Dont they have to spread dots?
Talented Moonfire hits two targets. Sunfire hits five, iirc. And Starfall doesn’t have an AoE cap. Lunar Strike hits two or three targets. Convoke is Starfall and then mass casts of things.

I can confirm what Rhielle is saying. Boomkin dots are not like a warlocks. Sunfire alone hits 5 targets p/cast. Moonfire is 2x if talented and they last 20+ seconds.
We also have Starfall and streaking star procs on Moonfired targets, Fury of Elune and a spammable cleave through Starfire.
If you want to remain a Warlock, Destro locks also have basic/decent AoE when talented for it.
I use Cataclysm into Rain of Fire. Then Havoc nuke a couple.

Hunter probably. But dot or not, it’s gunna be hard to find a class with simpler AoE than a boomkin.
I’ve never considered Balance a DoT class, but you do you.

Shadow Priest, because when you’re AoEing you just Mind Sear and spam Searing Nightmare lmao
…and it more than makes up for this by being quite complex for single-target and Searing Nightmare being bait outside of M+.
Elemental shaman
Aoe rotation, chain lightning on 2+ targets. And spend maelstrom on earthquake. On under 3 use lava burst on CD. Spread flame shocks on CD
Chain lightning capped to 5, earthquake uncapped.
Dps cool downs are great for aoe, storm keeper and storm elemental pet - both do huge aoe damage
I suggest trying out frost mage. Get the Glacial fragments legendary, place blizzard down and spam ice lance. Possibly the most easiest aoe rotation but the only annoying thing is it requires mobs to stay inside the blizzard.

Oh, BM hunter and Fury warrior are also good options
Mage.
- Always the META
- Always fat pumps
- Always has overtuned CC
- Always best in PvP and PvE
- Always simple rotation
If you are bad at the game mage hides it even in higher content.

As much as I wanted to come in here with the same answer because I want to see Fire Mage kneecapped and nerfed to the point that it’s useless is that you can screw up combustion gutting your damage. You can’t screw up pressing starfall or chain lightning. 99% of Mages in pugs are dog trash tier rerollers that end up doing zdps with score that they shouldn’t have because pugs literally only want mages.
Combat rogue, press blade flurry and continue your Sinister & Dispatch.
Somebody that is looking for something “noob” friendly is not going to want to deal with juggling two buffs + marked for death and bone spike resets. If you were going to suggest something that’s target capped you might as well have just said Fury Warrior.
So how difficult would enhance or the death knight dps specs be do you guys think?
