Hey there. New player here.
I’ve been curious about WoW for a number of years but never really got into it because none of the playable races or professions resonated with me. Then the Dragonflight expansion dropped and I figured I’d give the game a fresh chance. So far the Evoker gameplay has been pretty fun and I love the Dracthyr characters themselves. Makes the game much more enjoyable being able to rock a toon that I can connect with.
Anywhoo, to the point; I’ve been looking around on the forums and in-game listings for casual furry/scalie Communities and Guilds, but so far haven’t had a whole lot of luck. I’ve found a couple of Communities, but they’ve either been defunct or the activity level on them has been downright depressing… i.e. about 4/1000 online at any given time.
As far as Guilds, word on the street is that Moonguard is the place to be for what I’m looking for as an Alliance player, but that realm is currently full. Are there any particular realms that have been established by the community as ‘overflows’ for Moonguard? Or do I need to resort to a shotgun approach and create a disposable character on each prospective realm just to browse it’s guild listings? Is there a way to browse the complete list of guilds on a realm I don’t have a character on?
Thanks.
Even though a realm says full you can still make a character over there and log in etc.
Only time I’ve ever RPed was moonguard Alliance and very briefly horde wyrmrest. I’m not sure about Emerald dream but you’re more than welcome to give it a try.

Ah, okay, thanks. I guess I read somewhere that full realms are locked out unless you’ve already got a character there. Maybe that information is outdated.
Looks like MG has a minimum level requirement before you can create Dracthyr characters there. Would a character transfer get around this? Or would I have to level-boost a disposable character belonging to one of the approved ‘starter’ races?
I think that’s in classic only right now.
I mean if you really want to be a dracthyr you can do boost a toon just to use for that. You can make a worgen druid or worgen in general (werewolves basically) if you wanted to do that. It doesn’t take too too long to get up in levels.
How long would you say it takes on average to hit 50 with a casual play style? Just weighing my options.
Grinding through something I don’t necessarily enjoy vs a $25 transfer vs a $60 boost just to change realms, lol.
I would say maybe a day if not longer.
If you’re willing though to do that with the xfer, you can do that.
Up to you.
in my opinion, grinding through would be the better option. Considering a transfer is really meant for if you want to commit to a new realm. But welcome to WoW! both of us seem to be in a more similar boat with looking for guilds. But don’t commit to switching somewhere where you may want to move away from, stay a while cause you never know what could happen!
