When Im using the auction house whether im browsing, selling, buying, etc… am I accessing only the city I am in or am I accessing the entire realm, all realms ??
How do I see my transaction history (buys/sells)??
How do I see specific items buy/sell, price fluxuations, history etc??
Thanks in advance for all help.
For the first question you only see your server’s stuff. Auction houses aren’t realm wide. For the rest of the questions there are two addons that may help: auctionator and trade skill master. I have a little expirience with the second, none with the first.
Edit: sorry, i used the completely wrong term. Auction houses are realm (server) wide. They are not region (such as north america, europe, etc) wide.

Uh, server = realm I thought? Am I completely misreading something?

I think people interchange realm and server. Others consider a realm to include connected servers. I.e a pair or more of servers that Blizz has connected such that you can trade with players from the connected server and see them in the world more. Blizz typically do this for low pop servers.

I have been told that the AHs in our capitols are now both horde and alliance.
Not sure how true that is.
We used to have to go to Winterspring or Booty Bay to sell items cross faction.

If you want to check prices for things historically you can use the undermine journal website. Just choose your server and the item you want to look at. Shows current prices, trends etc.
Also, as mentioned, if you plan on doing a lot of AH stuff then an addon is a good idea. I use Auctionator, mainly just to easily search for the cheapest items and what to list items for. I think TSM is more advanced but I haven’t used it.

You need an addon to see your transaction history.
Undermine journal has price history region wide.

Yep, it’s true. I’m guessing that’s why deposits and AH cut are so much higher now too.
Auctioneer is a pretty simple addon, OP. The others are probably more elaborate if you’re really into the AH game.
*edit: Auctioneer does also have a lot of other features that you can configure too. It’s just one that’s also simple to use for the basics.

Thank you all for the help. What im understanding from your responses is that the AH is only server(realm) wide along with any other servers(realms) that may be connected AND its also now showing both alliance & horde… but if I want to go more in depth i’ll need a couple of addons…
Got it!
Just one addon. Auctioneer. The others mentioned are alternatives, you dont need them all
If you really want to get into playing the AH, you’ll probably want to take a look at TSM (Trade Skill Master).
It is a suite of add-ons with a desktop client that will let you keep updated realm (and region) AH pricing information available in-game, as well as help manage functions related to buying and selling items on the AH.
It is overkill if you just want to buy and sell a few things, a simple auction add-on with the undermine journal data is more than enough for most.
Yea, sorry, i meant they aren’t region wide.
It is true. I’ve helped my wife transfer gold/items from one faction to the other, on the same server, through the ah.
