As the title reads.
Hey, Bustacap!
Based on your internet connection, I would assume this is related to the recent DHCP Lease Timer/Arris router issue.
Changing the DHCP Lease timer or factory resetting the router has been the only resolution.
If you would like to collect a WinMTR Test, we can verify if it is related. Make sure to run the WinMTR test for 5 to 10 minutes while experiencing the disconnections.
wow do I need a degree from devry to do this? youre kidding me right?
If you do need assistance in accessing your router, or factory resetting the router, I would recommend reaching out to your ISP for assistance. They should be able to help you walk through the steps.
my ISP? say what? im not gonna sit on the phone for an hour to talk to charter. you gotta be kitten me for real. I just wanna play a game.
Nothing else in my house even remotely stutters or disconnects. Just this game.
If you got a degree there you would never be able to perform the task above.
So spend 10 minutes looking up on google how to do this. It’s not rocket science and the task doesn’t take that long at all. It’s a known issue with the ARRIS modems.
Unfortunately since the things you need to do are hardware level, it’s literally impossible for us to push a button and fix it for you. Hopefully the ISP has been able to help you fix the issue, but if you need more help, you can post the winMTR test we requested. We’re here to troubleshoot problems, and sometimes we need to gather data to do this so we’re not just throwing darts at a wall to see what sticks.
If you need more one on one help with your problem, or a walkthrough with the tools we’re requesting help with, I recommend a live chat or phone callback rather than the forums. We’re happy to provide it live with you, but the forums don’t translate well for Q&A during troubleshooting.
