Non Raid gear for Warlock in Phase 6?

so i just hit 60 on my Lock after coming back to level for TBC. I don’t have any gold cuz i havent been playing any classic at all and plan to transfer at the start of TBC/pre patch to another server, so GDKPs or finding a guild to raid with is unlikely right now.

What kind of non raid gear should i be trying to grab for a destro lock to have the easiest time in dungeons come TBC? is it just plain old Pre Bis from Phase 1 or have other items (besides the Bloodvine Set i plan to buy) been added since that are better than dungeon Pre-Bis items? thanks for any help friends

When prepatch comes out get the PvP weapons and armor, it will give you something to do and get you to a place where you’re competitive with the other players.

You will need to wait for prepatch to get the epics in a reasonable amount of time based on /played.

In the mean time you can participate in the PvP system and collect the trinket and even some of the PvP blues and the reputation items from AB, WSG and AV.

Those are things that you can easily do solo.

If you’re looking for a PvE solution, that kinda depends on your server… my server has a lot of Gold DKP horde side and just the opposite on the Alliance with mostly Soft Res runs.

You can also join a raiding guild, it’s likely they will be recruiting right now due to some people burning out.

Pvp set in prepatch, farm gold in the meantime imo

Just go to ZG pugs soft reserves should still be about and with everyone wanting idols you can pick quite a few decent items

If you have gold to buy Bloodvine. Than you probably have gold to buy T2. Warlock T2 usually goes for 20g apiece. Just look for BWL GDKP’s. I would not waste gold on Bloodvine now if your not looking to join a guild to raid with. You will not need the +hit to level in TBC.

PvP set. That’s probably the quickest

Bloodvine set, crafted catch up gear.
DME trinket, will cost you 1gold for book.
Crafted felcloth gear.
Zg pugs… no one wants zg gear, so it rots.

Good enough for starting tbc.

Thanks all for the responses. Got a much better idea then now of what i will do. Save my gold and dont buy bloodvine, try to get some BWL/ZG Pugs if possible, and basically wait for pre patch to get pvp gear. EZ. prolly just try and pick a server to transfer too soon then since mine doesnt run much of anything other than boosts haha

Thanks everyone!

AQ20 and ZG pugs should be your best bet. BWL is harder to get into without gear, unless you get into one that takes anyone just to fill.

DME trinket also, it’s practically free now, just have someone open library for you since you don’t have the key likely.

Also for what it’s worth back in the days I replaced my T2 by 63/64. And my friend in T3 replaced his by 66/67. Stat inflation in tbc will force you to use tbc gear anyway very fast.

Yeah i figured It’s gonna get replaced eventually regardless, but my plan is to try and grind dungeons to level so I want to make sure i can at least do damage in there with whatever groups i get into haha

Already grabbed the DM trinket tho from the quest so that was a good suggestion. and I’ll prolly just farm gold and PvP a lil bit until pre patch and try to get pvp gear then. should be good enough until i get a couple drops in TBC haha Thank you!

Ok here is the deets. The rank 12-14 gear will be buyable with ~(110ab, 50av, and 30wsg) marks of honor. That leaves 2 trinkets, 2rings, an amulet, a cape, bracers, wand, and a belt.

dire maul book trinket and zg hoh trinket are good enough. tier .5 bracers and belt should be not awful. Buy the mats for jc to make amulet and ring if applicable or if zg luck bad.

If you’re just looking for something to do then sure go for the bloodvine set. But really, any prebis you get now is going to be outclassed by quest items in the first couple hours so I really wouldn’t worry about it too awfully much. Best bet to prep is just hoard gold for after launch

Dont do this. R14 gear is a huuuuge waste in TBC. You’ll regret spending those marks/honor once you hit 70

On the contrary, the full rank 14 set will easily last you until level 65-68 and is well worth getting because it is super easy. It only requires honor and BG marks.

Which are much better spent on level 70 BG gear which will last you significantly past level 65…

You could get almost the full level 70 epic PVP offset for the same cost as gear that’s made obsolete by level 65 quests…

I got the rank 14 sets on all my alts in original TBC prepatch then got the level 70 gear at level 70. It is not like it is hard to get or anything.

I wouldn’t stress over it. Get what you can for now and enjoy the upgrades in Hellfire. Make sure your trades are at 300, and gather as much gold as you can. That will serve you much better.

“Hard” is a relative term. You’re talking 95ish BG’s assuming you win 50%. That’s not “difficult” but its hours and hours and hours of play… So I’m just saying…

Maybe save your 50 hours of marks for gear that won’t be replaced by quest gear…

Meh, I never get tired of battlegrounds so I find it quite fun to get the best gear available and don’t mind at all replacing it later.

We all find our own fun in the world…of warcraft.
