#NoChanges?

Hey guys I am so looking forward to playing the closest thing as possible to the vanilla experience of World of Warcraft. Like most of you I have no interest in any changes made to the original game.

By the way which addons are you guys going to use? I have about 8-11 which do things like help me with quests, change interface, and improve casting bars.

-.-

Ackis Recipe List is a must-have for any self-respecting completist. Outfitter, MoveAnything and Gatherer are my other staples.

going to be hard to figure out which addons since they have mentioned they could be breaking some of them.

It depends honestly on what they do or change i got some in mind but i hear they’re breaking all old addons.

However there are some guides i’m book marking does anyone have any super old ones? I finnally got El’s Extreme Anglin guide, they fixed it before and it’s still the best i found for fishing.

Honestly, it’s all going to come down to what is available. Can’t really expect to use the mods you know and love from 14 years ago when it’s a brand new engine.

A threat meter will be enough for me.

Probably something to tell me how much things vendor for to help me decide what to discard. Other than that maybe some timers later on.

What add-ons can do has changed over the years and have become much more sophisticated as authors have gained years of experience and savvy. We’re not 100% on a concrete solution to what this means for WoW Classic yet, but one thing we know is that we’re not going to roll all the way back to the 1.12 add-on API. Doing so would open the way for nearly complete automation of combat decision making allowing for “bot” behavior that is counter to the core WoW gameplay experience. This is one thing we know we don’t want. On the other end of the spectrum, the modern API offers some additional functionality for creating social features that could also undermine the authentic classic experience. We’re still figuring out the details and looking for a good middle ground. We’ll be keeping a close eye on feedback from the community and add-on authors on where we should be setting those boundaries.

The ones I had the first time around, if they all still work. CTBarMod so I can reorganize my interface, Decursive if they don’t break it…

I will make the decision on which addons I will use when the game is released and addon makers can figure out what they’re going to be making and what does and does work

Something to make my UI clean, (elvui/pfui style)
Boss mods (timers are neat)
Damage meter (for those phat deeps)
Threat meter (notice damage meter is first)
Some kind of dot timer (easy to keep track of curse and dots)
Banana bars (allows for quick and easy target swapping to marked targets)
Something to clean up my buffs (stacks fort/int/motw ect into 1 so I can see the rest easier)
Outfitter (quick and easy gear set swapping)

And maybe a few here and there like mail/ah and stuff like that.

Yeah remembering to rebuff on such a short timer is gonna be something to relearn.

I’ll be happy with a threat meter, TSM, and Loot Appraiser.

I’ll be grabbing a threat meter, a node mapper, unit frames, debuff timers, cooldown timers, and a swing timer.

Bartender or equivalent, a threat meter, and something for raid frames are the really big ones for me.

I also like IceHud or something like it, but I might skip it for Classic. I normally use Pitbull unit frames, but for classic I can skip that. I also use a variety of information mods to give me information in the center of the screen (something to let me know what I dispelled, what abilities people used, etc; it helps since I’m blind and often don’t see visual effects), which I may or may not want to keep using in classic.

Back when I was in school for CSC, I was actually kinda interested in LUA scripting and making my own addons. Even came up with my own edgelord warlock UI with the custom bitmaps you could add (can’t remember the addon).

Nowadays, the only addons I use are something for raid frames, MoveAnything, and TRP3 if I’m on an RP server. I’ll probably go minimalist for Classic, as well. I like the stock UI for the most part.

Bartender
Auctioneer
Decursive
Recount
Maybe ShadowUnitFrames. I kinda want to keep the old portraits though.

Something that actually shows my spellcrit and updated model addon if a toggle isn’t in the game.

I guess you guys didn’t sense my sarcasm. If we’re all #NoChanges then why would you ever use an addon to adjust UI or to make questing easier. Play the game the way it was supposed to be.

I certainly sensed it, I just chose to ignore it. As, I imagine, did most other people.
