Nobody wants to run dungeons anymore

Different strokes for different folks…my most fun times in Classic (and from original release) were spent in dungeons…usually when we accidentally pulled an extra pack, or didn’t account for the patrol…and the fight ended with everyone low on health and no mana.

It’s hard to find that kind of experience in retail, outside of raids and super high keyed mythics

Yeah but retail is easy mode, you’ll level at a million times the pace, and seriously, you can always just level boost. Retail is a joke. It’s also worth pointing out that a new character can sell the greens they find for thousands of gold.

Not sure why it is awful to you, but you dont need to run it twice, if you are referring to the tablets quest?
Enter through the back door, stick to left side, take only left turns
short little walk, there sit the tablets, grab em and jet.

Why?

So far the following instances supposedly suck:
Deadmines
Gnomer
Uldaman
Atal’hakkar (ST)
Wailing Caverns
Blackfathom Depths
Stockades
Shadowfang Keep
Razorfen (Both sides)
Mauradon
Zul’Faarak (60/40 for sucking)

That is a good number of dungeons in the game.
Exactly how do they all suck? It isn’t like they have changed somehow.

I never did a tablets quest. It was more for the darn shattered necklace. Granted I could have run out turned part of it in and came back, but didn’t want to mess with the group running through efficiently.

Uldaman is too large and it has a large varied lvl range. It’s horrible xp.

Those don’t all suck by the way. In fact, Uldaman is the one most will flat out refuse. Others won’t see much action from a particular faction because of distance.

ZF is definitely farmed by those who want good xp. Players are even paying for Mara carries.

It is kind of supposed to be that way though.
You kind of progress through it as you level up, eventually you become big enough that you can get to the end.
In between you do world stuff, complete quests, get a little bit of better gear, go back in, get farther etc.

SM is the same way really, it is just broken into several separate sections, but the concept is the same kind of.

None of it of course was really designed with a speed leveling
meta in mind. I guess part of that might be the issue?
Wanting everything to be fast and give maximum loot.

Sure, but there are other dungeons that do this much better, BRD etc.

Uldaman is a huge pain, it’s not worth the trouble.

I get it. The game is better with varied dungeons. Complaints like these are why Blizzard moved away from this model.

It’s a shame but Uldaman really does suck lol.

Each dungeon can at least be worth doing once for the quests. Uldaman quests require you to go back to the instance on 3 different occasions.

Nobody wants to go through that.

BRD is good, but not for someone say level 20 - 46 (actually what? 54?)

Then again, i come from playing some very old games, where sometimes the only thing you got out of progressing through an extremely brutal dungeon was that you made it through to the valley beyond the mountains and it took 4 real days of playing to get your party leveled enough to make it through.

I only HAD to go twice, perhaps i missed a quest?
But the 2nd quest to return for the tablets, i snuck in myself through the back door and grabbed them alone.

Ive run it though about 9 times, healing for other groups, so they could do their quests.
I did not mind, i had fun doing it, i always liked the design concept of Uldaman.

Try doing a Scarlet marathon.
We had that one day on Windseeker, I probably made 100 trips to various parts of SM.

SM is very popular while Ulda isn’t. I won’t knock you for enjoying it, I was just providing an explanation for why there aren’t too many groups.

You can start BRD at 48-50 but the truth is most players want as little resistance as possible. You can do Mara and ST at that level just fine.

Also, you can consider that Classic isn’t a new experience for many. Exploration isn’t much of a factor.

Horde could 100% premade
good luck convincing a lot people that put time and effort to level up their toon, only to be taken away, people in classic be furious
Nobody is suggesting that. It would make sense for them to release fresh servers though like they did for years from Vanilla through BV

Except we cant… we have 40 min queues, people have tried to set up premade discords. At the absolute most you might like 3-4 players into the same game, thats it.

I tried to heal BRD for a group at 49.
I could handle the heals, but the aggro i generated just by being there was not fair for the group, everything made a beeline to me, so we found a new healer and i bowed out.

Might have been ok if the rest of the group was in my range, as the aggro thing would have been spread evenly, but they were all 54/55

Probably.
I have not played it for 15 years, others have played it on other servers all this time.

Guys?
Whats this got to do with running dungeons?
Did i get lost?

FWIW though
Next update horde can group as 5 mans
And queue numbers will no longer be listed
That should kind of make for equally opportunity to both sides?

time for battlegroups xRealms

BRD is huge. A lower level group can get by farming the initial area until they are higher level to push deeper.

Probably, you just dont find any lower levels wanting to, or maybe i just have run across any.
I know we used to do it back in the day, clear the beginning area, then reset.

We definitely were at the start of Classic. There are quite a few players who have gold now to pay for carries.

Little trick I’ve always used is to /who players of the class and levels of those I’d wish to group with. Message enough and you can form your own team.

I even remember back in the day, people doing this at SM
when they were extremely marginal at being able to run it.
Pop in, clear the entry hall, and reset and just keep taking the silver and XP and occasional drops, zone out, kill the outer area guards, reset, run back in.
If things went way bad, it was a quick zone out.

Are you playing the game for gear? You are doing it wrong. :cowboy_hat_face:
