Nobody wants spell batching

If they could do that, it would be perfect imo.

I hate spell batching. It isn’t the spell batching I wanted. I wanted spellbatching like private servers. The way they have it on here the batch window is wayyyyy too big and it feels clunky and bad, to the point where I miss private servers.

Spell batching for you.

This guy gets it. I play with lag and I’ve played with greater lag still. I know anything below 200ms is barely noticeable unless you’re specifically trying to notice it. So for instant casts and heals to be so evidently delayed so frequently, and FD+Trap “working” as clunky as it does, is more than enough evidence for me to say spell batching’s got to go.
It’s not the sub-par infrastructure that draws us to vanilla, though I appreciate the intent, it’s the game itself.
And a non-buggy game is preferable.

Just stop posting in this thread Theloras

I know you THINK you are doing the greater good, but you just dont get it bud.

You are wrong.

It is a nerf to everyone. It causes me hella issues on my Rogue. It makes it nearly impossible for me to vanish and reopen like I used to.

no i disagree. i get 18 ms all day long in the Chicago area, and i notice the difference when it goes to 60 or so. 200 is really obvious you must not be very perceptive to tell that

sorry to say it, but you are slow if you see no difference between 18 and 200

batching also seems to be based on server load? every since DM was released and floods of people “came back” the batching delay is super noticeable

Troll. The point was that the current batch goes well above 200. Add to the conversation or gtfo. Also educate yourself, in every sense of the word. Science exists for a reason.

In addition to only having a very limited sharp field of vision, our eyes are also fairly slow at registering changes in images compared to the update frequency of a modern computer screen. Research has shown that the retina needs to see a new image for about 80 ms before that image is registered in normal light conditions.

Can’t link source. Tough luck.

not trolling bud, just telling you i notice a difference without checking the numbers from 18-60

200 is obvious to me, you may not be that perceptive but others are. maybe you should educate yourself, you dont know as much about others as you think

this is adding to the conversation, you just dont like it lmao

because it was part of vanilla and into TBC as well - it allowed for Redoubt and Reckoning charges to be gained and for Seal/Weapon Twisting to be possible for Paladins

Not that I am playing favorites for Paladins only, it likewise allows Warriors to maintain permanent Enrage/Blood Craze when they solo or while dual-wield tanking.

Again, as I said earlier if Blizzard wants to remove spell batching then fine, but they would have to allow these talents to be triggered while using a /sit macro.

Otherwise, they would be changing the game from what the original vanilla game was like:

“Normally if you’re sitting down you would not get Reckoning charges from auto-attacks. However, you could gain charges from random NPCs by constantly sitting and standing up due to server lag: mob would try to attack you as your were sitting, so it’d be a forced crit. However, if you stood up just as you were getting hit, the server would see you as if you were standing and get a Reckoning charge.”

Anyone have any idea why this guy is linking reckoning stack videos on a thread about spell batching?

Can we get a mass report for trolling?

because stacking reck charges using a /sit macro during vanilla used spell batching broheim

We’re discussing completely different mechanics please make your own reckoning thread nobody here cares nor wants you here and we will continue to report you until these mods do their jobs

Maybe this will blow your mind but you could have reckoning and not this scuffed spell batching together. Also, from what I understand you can’t abuse sit in classic like you could in vanilla so what exactly are you shilling about

Just stop

Retail players always give themselves away by continuing to spam their irrelevant opinion after others have asked them to stop

Let’s call it what it is: it’s server lag.

With the correct queuing priority system, it can result in things such as vanishing a death coil, simultaneous ccs, etc. It’s neat, it’s quirky, we like it. With incorrect queuing, however, it’s the opposite: you vanish and get struck, so CD is wasted. Finicky, to say the least.

To those who are adamant about it for the sake of high skill, reactive gameplay… please. It’s anything but. With a delayed (travel time) spell, you have as good a chance of reacting on a non-batched server. With non-delayed spells, it comes down to prediction and luck, more often than not. There are games actually built around reactive gameplay.

Is it really worth everything being delayed so noticeably though?

Chances are, this thread will get no attention because #nochanges, however, one could lower the batch significantly and still get those quirks without the “underwater server” feeling.

Error 1: You assume I’ve experienced 18ms and spiked to 200ms. The fact you can’t even conceive of a reality other than your own speaks volumes.

Error 2: How would you know, being so self-absorbed? You don’t know yourself as well as you think you do.
Error 3: I said “barely”, so you failed basic reading comprehension.
Error 4: You insult me thrice with two posts. You ought to know better.

By now you should realize you’re not smart enough to tango with me, but I don’t trust you to be smart enough to realize you’re not smart enough. You strike me as a 13 year old entitled brat. For your sake, I hope I’m right. lmao? No. It’s sad. It’s sad that individuals like yourself exist.

I fully expect some snarky, nonsensical reply, which I’ll ignore because mommy told me not to feed the trolls, only put them in their place. It’ll take you years to look back on this time and the person you used to be in astonishment and shame. For the time being, however, grow up, or go back to BfA where you belong. This community has higher standards.

“anything below 200ms is barely noticeable unless you’re specifically trying to notice it”

this is straight up not true, and you are getting mad that i corrected it. just say ok its wrong and move on like an adult

^^^now see what this guy wrote^^^

Ballemngard and I can have an educated and informed discussion between the two of us and try to find a solution that could work for everyone

instead of writing an uninformed qq thread with a title like “Nobody wants spell batching” and thinking that I am a retail player lol

TLDR - even I agree the spell batch window is too long - especially when I play my Warrior and get clunky batch windows for either Sweeping Strikes or Execute.

But to say that Spell Batching shouldn’t be in the game period is an intellectually dishonest statement given the #NoChanges and #WartsAndAll overall design that the Classic devs are trying to recreate here.

I think the general consensus is people would like spell batching but not in it’s current state. I’m of the opinion it would be better to just get rid of it if this is as good as it gets but I’m hoping a solution will be found.

This is 2019 playing a game from 2004 and everyone is complaining it feels ‘laggy’. I’ve spoken with addon devs and they can’t get timers for a lot of things synced up because this ‘lag’ is regularly throwing them off.

How many spells need to really be batched at once any ways? I would think only a small amount would be needed. I played in vanilla and I’ve played on a private server, so I’ve seen the simultaneous polymorphs and charges etc, they do happen but they aren’t as common as you’d think.

The ‘lag’ as it’s described is causing a huge list of problems, myself am a pvp oriented player and I like to be able to time abilities and rotations very tightly. On my shaman for example you drop a grounding totem last second (before spell is finished cast, not yet travelling) and it fails to eat the spell, that’s going to kill it for me once phase 2 hits with pvp.

Something needs to be done or I believe it’s going to hurt the longevity of the game’s player base. Players need their faith restored from Blizz that this will be resolved and the game will actually play mostly like vanilla did.
