Nobody talking about the mega-dungeon

Somewhat understandable given that this M+ season is a banger after the most recent set of tweaks, but still, insanely cool. 6 of the 8, technically 7 of the 9 bosses are huge lore bosses. Spoilers ahead.

Spoilers

Galakrond’s head / blood animating zombie drakes, Iridikron in his full glory, Evil Chromie, Evil Keeper Tyr, Grom Hellscream / Anduin Lothar, and finally the entire Infinite Dragonflight led by ChronobLord Deios vs us + the 5 aspects.

Feels more like a 5 man raid than a dungeon. The dungeon journal is thick with pages of text describing raid-like fights. And there’s presumably a hard mode on top of it.

Insane. Very cool. Much hype in my opinion.

I’ll wait for the casual version.

Got too many alts to level and old reps to grind to bother.

I am sure the Key Elites are pumped for this overhyped PVE experience. Small minds.

stops looking at the Wowhead dressing room for my new tauren lock

I’m sorry the what?

Blizzard loves catering to them, yes.

The majority must wait.

is it looking very de-moo-nic? is it going to make people cow-er in fear?.. HA I’ll stop.

The Supreme Commander of the Alliance of Lordaeron. Famously wielded the blade Ashkandi, Greatsword of the Brotherhood. Cut down by Ogre assassins while attempting to take the terms of surrender for the defeated Orcish Horde during the Second War.

He’s “Lothar” in the Warcraft movie. He’s also who the current king Anduin Wrynn was named after.

ty. i was like that’s not our current anduin right? lol

He is not. Lore-wise he’s been dead almost 30 years or so, but time travel exists so :man_shrugging:.

Likely the first time WoW - only players will be exposed to him in a major way, although again he was in the WoW movie. Highly skilled warrior and general. Should be a cool boss.

Iridikron is using some strange device on Galakrond…

The theme of the dungeon weapons is Tyrhold…

Tyr’s infinite hammer…

Names of the possible files of the dungeon are Dawn of the Infinites, Azmerloth (murloc), and The Warlands (HvA).

This is terrible, I love it.

Bro, “Key Elites”. It’s a Mythic dungeon, not a Mythic +15. If you think THIS is difficult content, then maybe Hello Kitty Island Adventure might be more your style.

Same

Those Time Rift seem associated with the open world stuff.

As best as I can tell, Wing 1 takes place in Dragonblight, and Wing 2 takes place after Iridikron succeeds in breaking the timeline, corrupting Tyr before he has the chance to ascend the Aspects, keeping them in their “Proto-Aspect” forms and preventing them from defeating him during the war of the incarnates. We must unite with the protoasoects including Malygos and Neltharion to restore the timeline and defeat the Infinite for good.

Wing 2 takes place in some weird “between time” / “fractured time” space. Can see in the screenshots you’re fighting in a place disconnected from anywhere we can recognize.

I’m guessing they’ll be “splitting it in two” for later, so probably 2 more dungeons for the rotation at some point

Grom and Lothar are in the dungeon?

Did I miss something?

Almost certainly. There’s a huge narrative jump between the 4th and 5th boss. In fact less of a mega-dungeon and more like two dungeons one after the other with a narrative thread connecting them rather than looking like the same place.

It’s on the ptr. They are the penultimate boss depending on your faction.

I have found some names for Time Rifts in MMOchampion though a few lines say deleted in 10.1.5 which makes me wonder if we’ll get only a couple of scenarios.

Argus Raid (UNUSED)

Black Empire (Azq’roth)

Demon (Azewrath)

Robot (A.Z.E.R.O.T.H.)

Scourge (Azmourne)

Titan (Underoth)

I’ve heard you mention Grom and Lothar, hopefully it’s not on the Fourth War map?
