Nobody Seems to Thank Blizz When

…maintenance is shorter than scheduled.

Imagine how awful it’d be being at a job where you’re only criticized and never thanked.

You all love the game to the point you probably need a 12 step program in your life for it if all you’re doing is sitting here complaining. Like me complaining about you complaining. Yes, I see the irony in it. I’m also in a 12 step program and see my part in it.

Anyway, thank you Blizz for creating a game that’s kept me addicted for the past 20 years. Though I did cancel my annual subscription recently due to frustrations. But like any other addict, I’m sure I’ll be back

Blizzard is a multi-billion dollar company that acts like a multi-dollar company.

People do.

It’s just that extensions are far more common than early completions.

Because you honestly should need to be thanked for keeping a scheduled window you yourself set.

Every company that I have ever worked for has “thanked” me by paying me. If said “thanks” was not enough I have simply requested that they be more thankful for me. If they weren’t thankful enough for me I go to a new place that thanks me harder. This is a strange thing to expect from customers. You’re paying for a product.

Plenty do, but the amount of downtime for a company like this where others don’t have nearly as much is kind of embarrassing. Especially all the extensions and issues not being resolved.

I doubt the people doing the maintenance bother caring about or reading the whining people do online about a few hours of downtime.

Well, that’s everything in life, every job, every human interaction, etc. Our survivalist monkey brains prioritize bad experiences so we can learn from them as opposed to good ones. It’s just how humans are, I think Blizzard, as an aglomerate faceless company, mesures their “thanks” as daily active users and good profit margins.

Corporations do not need thanks for doing the service you paid for. Nor do they want thanks, they only want your money. If that’s not true then I’ll gladly pay my subscription in thank-yous instead of dollars if Blizzard is okay with that.

Corporations, however, do absolutely deserve blame and criticism when they fail to deliver on what you paid for.

I thanked them by canceling both my subs.

When you set an unrealistic deadline that your developers can’t meet but go ahead and release a major change anyway, a whole lot of maintenance is going to be needed.

This reminds me of the joke that got Chris Rock cancelled.

“… you not supposed to go to jail!”

I send them a $15 thank you every month.

Most people don’t have to imagine this. :stuck_out_tongue:

Blizzard employees are no special flowers.

Lol, you must be joking.

Not like the game is behind a paywall and you have to renew it monthly otherwise you’re out of it. Nah, none of that… not like people dont deal with that or worse in some cases either everyday… nah…

I think you dont realise that people pay to play this game, hence the complains.

If the game was free id give you 100% right. but youre 100% wrong
