Nobody got hwl/gm without cheating in some form

I guarantee this. Be it hotelling/match fixing/queue manipulation etc…

There was a retired guy who got it. He just played a bunch.

Lol one guy.

This post is clearly based on fact and not just OPs assumptions. I’ll give it 5 minutes until someone starts crying about the honor system.

First hand observations. It was an insane grind that was easy to rig.

One guy is all it takes to invalidate “no one”

Other people got it without cheating. It wasn’t very hard. I’ll give you a formula for rank 14.

Step 1. Either work from home or be unemployed.
Step 2. Be single or divorced.
Step 3. Have no children.
Step 4. Have no social life.
Step 5. Play WoW for 14+ hours a day.

With that, you’ll hit rank 14.

Observations based off knowing like person that did it? Great sample size. You should get into polling data as a profession.

Plenty of people got it without cheating. Plenty got it with cheating.

The solution in Classic would be for Blizzard to crack down on cheating for people at high PvP ranks.

Plenty of people are NEETs. I don’t see why there can’t be a single person who got it legitimately.

Real question is–will Blizzard care enough to devote GM attention to cases like this? Especially in light of the loot trading proposition which was made in order to lessen the load of GMs.

In my premade I was playing about 8-10 hours a day and there were a few weeks I had to actually sit out near the end so someone else could rank 1 that week until it was my turn. When you just win over and over you get significantly more honor than everyone else.

Unless you want to call not pvping “cheating”

That’s one thing I do not understand about the PVP premades and the brackets.

Sitting out.

If you can play more than that person, why the hell do you have to sit out? They need to play more. If they can’t keep up with the group, they need to be placed in a different slot.

That is called rigging the system. Probably one of the worst and most common forms of cheating.

R14 is a goal to be earned. Fight for it. Gather likeminded teammates. Bring the pain to the opposition. It will be a long grueling road. But there are no shortcuts. No Handouts. No welfare.
If you want R14.
You. Must. Take. It.

When it comes to account sharing, I think a lot of it is automated detection of multiple IPs logging into an account.

Which I’d guess was the most common form of cheating in getting to rank 14.

Well that would mean if I hadn’t “cheated” I would have gotten rank 14 faster, since I wouldn’t be waiting my turn.

Yeah my group never sat out or quit matches if they were dragging. Things needed to get those last few ranks.

I mean… you got Rank 14 by being the top contributor over a lengthy period of time. Someone was at the top, they had to be.

If you removed bots/match fixing/etc, there’d still be someone at the top and they’d be Rank 14.

Can you explain why you were made to sit out when you played more than the other person?

I’d tell them tough luck, they can get their rank 14 when the honor bracket goes down to something that fits their playtime. Seems odd the group needs to “slow down” for someone.

I wasn’t really “made to”, just the person that was furthest in rank 13 at the time would be the one chosen to get r14 next. So I would still advance deeper into r13, just not as much as the person that was further along. Made it easier over time for everyone to get done since you could get people “out of the way” once they were r14.
