I am fed up, 4 raids 1 piece of gear vs 4 raids and closer to 8 or more pieces. My RNG luck is so bad, that I cannot win a piece of gear needing on an item. Group loot was never wanted, personal loot with the ability to trade anything and master looter for guilds was the desire.
Seriously 40 bosses with 1 drop that I have won is terrible. Waiting to see what happens in DF, but if I can’t get gear there is no point. Just bring back personal loot with the ability to trade and not have to equip something first.
Didn’t they implement a master loot system? Are you talking about LFR or which difficulty are you talking about?
I’m not sure how incredible your luck is on a consistent basis, but 8 pieces of loot in one lockout period was absurdly high for personal loot. I would go weeks without seeing a single piece.
There was never a thread during PL about someone doing a whole run of a raid and getting nothing.
Bad loot drops is entirely a new concept created by GL.
The fact that I still don’t have a completed CN LFR set despite it being PL for so long is entirely GL’s fault.
You’re absolutely correct.
Seems to be about the same number of drops, though now a single person can win multiple items per boss. Something I’m not a fan of is it seems players can need roll items that are not main spec. Overall it’s a really “meh” loot system and I frankly don’t know why Blizzard thought that, of all the possible alternatives to old PL, that GL was somehow the best possible solution. Especially for LFR.
some did for sure. the problem is that the true solution was personal loot without trade restrictions. thats what we all would agree on if we were forced to keep personal loot.
honestly though, group loot is just personal loot with an extra step EXCEPT for the loot table drop algorithm. why in the world would they let the system drop 3 plate chests for a group of 15 with only one plate wearer. that is just stupid.
everything else is the same as personal loot: loot spec into tank to get a chance for a tank trinket to drop for you, rng is rng so you getting that chest piece for transmog with personal loot is the same as rolling need, and so on.
if people are barely getting loot, then its the system working in the background that isnt good. probably on purpose but whatever.
they better fix how the loot is pulled from the table or theres going to be a huge problem in DF. then they gotta figure out how people like the OP actually get gear. priority system or something. each failed roll adds a percentage of priority on the next roll and it just compounds on top of each other until a winned roll.
these idiots have to realize two things about their game:
gameplay is king. make classes fun and balanced. make instances and the world fun to play in. we just need classes to play and fun stuff to do.
people like rewards. period. if we do the thing, give us a reward. stupid currencies that arent tied to gear is not a reward fyi.
What is happening to me, the lowest ilvl player is winning every single need item for multiple raids. I cannot get a piece because he needs everything and just wasting my time. This is truly horrible and was horrible back in the day too.
No one asked for Group Loot. Many asked for Master Loot back in guild raids.
Giving back Master Loot would have been like admitting they had made a mistake removing it. Making Group Loot mandatory in all raids including LFR meant they designed a system to troll people who do LFR.
Group Loot was removed from LFR originally because of problems that are much worse because of the popularity of transmog hunting, which didn’t exist at the time.
PL: 6 people are eligible for loot. System rolls to see if they get anything. System gives out 3 pieces to 3 people.
GL: 6 people are eligible for loot. System gives 3 pieces eligible for roll. 6 people do the roll to see who gets the 3.
You can’t win anything thst isn’t your loot spec, you can’t win the exact piece if you already have it at that same ilevel unless it has tertiaries and you can’t win the same piece twice if two of them drop to roll on. People may win more than one item.
With PL, you could set your loot spec to try and target gear for specific roles. Now, my dk can roll need on off spec items, regardless of what my loot spec is set to. Doesn’t really seem fair, imo, but it is what it is I guess.
