What the title says. I was able to view her in Uldum just fine last week to access Ny’alotha on alts but cannot see her in Vale for Ny’alotha this week. Nobody should have to do 23+ quests just to unlock her on multiple characters, that’s frankly ridiculous to have to do in 2025 especially since she’s freely available in Uldum without having to do quests. This really should be hotfixed by now especially with the Collector’s Bounty event going on locking out most toons from doing the raid this week for the mount chance unless they have the free time to do a ton of quests per toon which really adds up.
Yeah, its pretty dumb.
People say shadowlands was the worst, BFA was the worst with all of these lockouts
My guild mate told us to post on here to bring more attention to this issue, because come on QA
I’m so happy Blizz decides to do an event and I cannot get to one of the raids. Great job blizz.
Not a bug. You need to do some of the BFA story line before she’ll appear.
I didn’t have to do ANY quests to access Ny’alotha in Uldum last week and it’s ridiculous to expect to have to do that on every single alt to access Ny’alotha this week. If Blizzard wants to make quest attunement mandatory to an old raid in tyool 2025, then they’d be consistent about requiring quests to access the raid while it’s in Uldum.
Yeah, I hear you. I had to work around it when farming Jami and others did during the Felcycle secret. The phasing was setup that way when it was introduced in BFA and it hasn’t changed since. There’s an argument to change it but it’s also not a bug. FWIW - you can summoned directly inside by a warlock.
For those who don’t know, the version of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms with the Ny’alotha raid entrance is locked behind completing a hefty portion of the Battle for Azeroth expansion content, specifically the part that grants players the BFA legendary cloak, even though that cloak is no longer required to complete the raid. The similarly locked entrance to the Eternal Palace raid requires progressing through the same BFA content in Nazjatar that added essences to the Heart of Azeroth necklace. Nota bene: Completing the Nazjatar content is a prerequisite for the cloak quest chain.
In all, the BFA content you will need to complete to have access to the Eternal Palace and Ny’alotha is riddled with time-gating, tedious travel that sends you back and forth between locations, teleports may be available to some locations, but then you have to schlep your way back under your own power - usually with your hearthstone on cool-down.
I cannot speak with confidence what level you need to grind the Heart of Azeroth to in order to unlock any part of these quests. When current, many of them required a level 60 Heart of Azeroth. Nota Bene: Not item level. Getting your Heart of Azeroth necklace to level 60 will require much faffing about in BFA zones doing world quests, emissary quests, etc. How long that will take is anyone’s guess, but doing it on an alt from MoP Remix took the better part of a week.
Frankly, the late game content of BFA is every bit as much a dumpster fire as anything in Shadowlands.
The reason I reported it as a bug is because I’m assuming this wasn’t Blizzard’s intent - Zidormi is perfectly interactable in Uldum without having done any of the quests, but not present in Vale without questing.
Now, I’m a stubborn git and have been doing the quests on a couple of alts where I find the time - and like Tendric says, it’s an involved process that takes me about 1.5-2 hours to do all the quests to get to the present day Vale. Multiply that by several alts, and that’s basically a part time job’s worth of questing to access the raid. It’s stupid and needs to be fixed to be like Uldum.
Agree with everything here- It’s NOT a bug but it’s an annoying feature considering Uldum does not work the same way, because who actually unlocked that during BfA on more than a few characters? It’s a lot of effort for a raid that’s 3 expansions old.
Unlike a sane, reasonable person, I marched all (then) 32 of my characters through all of BFA, getting all of them to a point that they had at minimum a level 5 cloak. But, then, only after the ability to purchases essences was added to MOTHER. Not that I ever did even a single run of Ny’alotha, not even LFR, because by the time Ny’alotha was added my guild had atrophied to three barely active users.
Most that did return, never logging into retail again. Only classic. Not that they missed anything in Shadowlands… >_>
It’s not just one, there are quest lockouts for several raids.
I thought we had evolved past the need for tedious attunement quests and needing a key to open instances, but Blizzard seems to flip back and forth on those things. If there was anything that I hated more than the requirement for attunement and dungeon keys during vanilla, I am hard pressed to remember it. I well remember people celebrating the introduction groupfinder in those halcyon days before cross-realm, it was a real godsend… how soon we forget.
just here to add my voice to this issue. had no problems with uldum last week. but this week almost all of my alts cant run the raid because its locked behind a massive outdated quest line that they were not around for, FOUR xpacks ago.
i know its not a “proper” bug but it is a huge oversight that needs to be fixed.
I cant get into the heart forge even AFTER acquiring the Heart. I can’t click on the portal and start the second quest “MOTHER knows best” I had to drop the first quest, do the DF intro quests and then talk to the guardian. I completed “Essential Empowerment” and it wont let me back through the portal from Silithis → Forge. This is craziness…
I have completed the Naj quests to get the heart quests and thats where I started to have issues and had to do the DF intro quests. I’ve unlocked world quests etc. Fearlessvkr-illidan.
Chromie Time, DF and TWW have all added layers of complications that have gummed up all manner of older content. Added to that is the alteration of older quest chains into the new chapter format, which, at best, did tidy up the dropped plate of spaghetti that some zones had become with changes during Cataclysm, and, at worst, left us with suddenly terminating quest chains that lost their breadcrumb quests to lead us onto the next task. Class trainers serve little if any purpose these days, but yet they remain. And let us not be remiss in remarking the bizarre changes to retail as a result of MOP Remix and the 20th Anniversary event that still persist in retail more than a year on.
In recently progressing a level 80 through the current Alliance version of BFA, I found all manner of oddities. Quest that formerly shoved themselves upon you, failed to auto-load or appear at all. I had to manually pick up the quest for the Heart of Azeroth. Then, because there was no Silithus portal appearing in Boralus, getting the Heart of Azeroth itself required traveling to Stormwind from Boralus, using the SW portal to Caverns of Time, flying to Silithus, doing the “give it to me already” bit, then flying back to the Caverns of Time, using the CoT portal to Stormwind, then the SW portal to Boralus. Even then, the Silithus portal in Boralus did not appear until I had completed a fair portion of the Nazjatar story, roughly the same time that the Nazjatar portal was added in Boralus.
Then, to my everlasting regret, Gila Crosswire began stalking me like some kind of “I’m your greatest fan” internet loonie in both Boralus and the quest hub in Nazjatar. If I never see see any part of Mechagon again, that will be fine with me. I have tried to make myself make and level a mechagnome for the heritage armor achievement, but I have never made it past the character creation screen. I guess you could say I am just not wired that way…
since noone has said it. How do you unlock it? It’s been ages since i have done it on my mains and i can’t remember the quests.
Start the quest chain in Stormwind/Orgrimmar. Do quests until you unlock world quests from the npc on the boat. Start Heart of Azeroth unlock quest. Start the quest chain to unlock Nazjatar, do Nazjatar intro until you get told to go to Silithus. Do Heart of Azeroth stuff, do Uldum invasion intro quests, do assault in Uldum, then continue questing until it takes you to Pandaria and the quests bring you to Vale where you can finally take off to do Ny’alotha and ignore the rest of this bs.
It takes a much longer time than just clearing the raid and I wish I had the free time to do it on all my alts or better yet, not have to do it altogether. I’d rather be using my time farming mounts for this limited time farming event than doing these quests on every character I have at max.
Same can be said about raid skips I hadn’t unlocked but thems the brakes.
I’m fine with doing some old content I missed when I took a break from the game years ago - but this here is ridiculous. Hours and hours of doing old dead pointless quests? There’s no reason we can’t do the ‘skip this’ like more recent content allows (ala SL and DF).
