pretty much the title. See leaks of all the new forms but MAN do I wish I could see my actual xmog. Had the same issue with shadow priest for years too until they finally gave us a glyph to almost 100% remove it. Why can’t they do the same for us?
Moonkin finally gets more forms, and people still find reasons to complain. These forums never cease to amaze.
How’s that boot taste?
Now stop trying to derail my post and f off somewhere else.
…How does that correlate to what this topic is about…? The new moonkin forms are great and are appreciated, what’s wrong with people who don’t want to play as a fat chicken and would rather play as their character?
Also I agree OP the new shadow priest glyph is great and reducing the void-y look and shows more of your character, wish we had that with glyph of stars having us look less blue and smurf-y.
There are other classes for that. Druid has been a shapeshifter since Day 1. It’s a part of the class.
You get to see it outside of combat, but I think it’s okay to have a class that has forms since it has been around since Classic. It’s not like they forced it on us mid-way through the game development.
You could just not use the form.
Since doing so myself my enjoyment of balance has skyrocketed.
Don’t you lose out on DPS by not using the form? I don’t know much about balance.
You lose out on DPS if you aren’t in “Moonkin” form, yes. Between cosmetic options and glyphs there are numerous forms you can take as a moonkin, but you will lose damage if you aren’t registered as being in Moonkin regardless what the current appearance on the screen would be.
Correct you lost out on dmg and some other benefits by not being in moonkin. However those are the cons to the pros of not constantly dealing with gcd like I would with my playstyle and build. Moonkin form is also only just a optional talent.
The stars above your head in Moonkin star-glyphed form work like a compass. Kind of cool.
For any player who wishes to PvP / M+ / Raid at even a slight competitive level, the damage bonus and polymorph immunity from Moonkin Form are indispensable.
I would love if we get a glyph that replaces the blue translucency effect with, say, solar or lunar starry swirls similar to the Glyph of Shadow. The stars overhead can be kept.
I also had no idea they serve as a compass - that is indeed very cool
you get new meta from off meta.
Sure, but not everyone wants to be flailing around as a goofy, plump chicken. And there’s only one option that doesn’t include that - Glyph of Stars(which I love) that was added what, 10 years ago? To add another glyph option in addition to that isn’t asking a lot… I do wonder what the breakdown of boomies that use the glyph compared to those that don’t is
Then maybe you shouldn’t play the class specifically designed to flail around as a goofy, plump chicken?
What an extraordinarily limited perspective. I should just be thankful for whatever Daddy Blizzard cares to give me, right? Lol, real progressive thinking there.
Silly me for providing feedback to a company and requesting features/improvements to an ever-evolving product I actively subscribe to. Blizzard has public test realms, forums, and feedback avenues specifically for reasons like this. You realize that right?
The relationship between the producer and consumer isn’t a one-way street. And it doesn’t hurt, nor is it outside the realm of a consumer’s role, to request minor cosmetic changes in a video game lol. There’s no need for you to smugly belittle others for asking.
I picked the class that is designed to shapeshift while not actually wanting to shapeshift… isn’t feedback.
As someone already mentioned, you should just play another class or spec (Restoration) then. Shapeshifting is a core part/design of the class and its identity. Who cares if the glyph was added years ago? Guess what? They are still adding new glyphs to the class, they just aren’t for Moonkin.
Legion added MANY forms and options for Cat and Bear form while Moonkin saw nothing.
Now they are adding basically a huge amount of stuff for Druids in general AND amazing customization options for Moonkin form. And what do some people do? Still complain. Its annoying.
Nothing commented here explains or reasons why an updated glyph of stars should not be added. It’s genuinely odd relativistic-type pseudo-argumentation. Why would anyone resist more customization options? If the DF trend is to add more options, let there be more… including a Glyph of Shadow-like option for Glyph of Stars
I’ve already submitted this as an in-game suggestion.
More options (within reason) = more participation and enjoyment. The ask in this thread is for a cosmetic option alone - to replace an outdated overlay which doesn’t let Boomkins show transmog, paints all of them a boring blue with semi-transluscent bugginess, and sometimes makes them nearly unseeable on certain terrain.
?
You know that you can still retain the “shapeshifting core part/design of the class and its identity” by adding another glyph option in addition to the already existing glyph option, right? I’m not asking to get rid of forms, just to add another option to glyph of stars.
They’re already not opposed to giving an option outside of the Moonkin model, so why are you acting like asking for another option is against the class core/design? The precedent has already been set lol.
Who does it harm if instead of Glyph of Stars, they add an option with less glowing effect, or even make the glowing effect, say, gold instead of blue(Glyph of the Sun as I’ve suggested in another thread)? The ask here is to expand upon something that is ALREADY IN THE GAME.
There’s a large portion of druids that don’t care for the moonkin model. And guess what, that is OKAY:) We can all live in harmony, me as a glowy starboi, and you as a flailing chonker chicken. The World(of Warcraft) is big enough for both of us;)
This will go ways but someone has to put it forth.
I’ve thought about this again really hard for the past five minutes. You know, with all the psycho-social analysis I picked up online and from my many academic years.
I genuinely think what the pro-Glyph of Stars crowd has that the chicken-gatekeeping type does not… is a unique transmog, such as a PvP one, to show off… hence, the outcry against the costumization smells and screams a lot like jealousy to me.
