No wonder heal queues are instant. Healing sucks!

Yep. Even tons of top support players in overwatch for example got into playing the role because nobody else would lmao.

I never get stressed healing because I’m always thinking about trying to keep people alive and saving them, rather than spending time thinking about what mistakes people are making. It’s not for everyone, it definitely takes the right mindset to enjoy.

I vividly remember a game where our mercy was doing absolutely nothing, and made several comments on how we weren’t accomodating them enough and how they were forced into the role, to which i was like “bro if you don’t wanna play mercy then switch, i’ll take your place” they argued for a moment and then let me play her. I mostly end up playing support in games because i straight up cannot trust them at this point to not screw things up out of spite / incompetence and my endless lust for the enemies blood means i still do plenty of damage anyway.

Not to be rude, but it sounds like you just aren’t good at, or don’t enjoy, healing.

Healing is my personal favorite role in the game, and there are plenty of other players who feel the same way… But you can’t expect to play a healer like you would a DPS or a Tank. It’s a completely different play stile.

Healing is all about making up for other people’s bad choices or keeping them alive during periods of unavoidable damage. Most healers like to be challenged and engaged and on the tips of their toes.

Healing is a reactionary role, No two pulls are ever going to be the same, you need to be able to adapt to the situation quickly and correctly… or people will die.

Sometimes you can’t prevent death… but as long as you are geared enough for the content you are trying to play, you should be able to effectively heal your group.

And it’s not a thankless job, a good healer usually gets A LOT of compliments, a good healer will have the players in their group feeling on top of the world able to make huge pulls and daring plays, and people respond to that. For some people it takes time to become a good healer, Some people are naturally good healers, and some people just naturally don’t align with the healing play style.

struggling to play mercy. now that’s just tragic. especially if it was back in the days of open queue where you could just hold blue and yellow beam to masters or even GM.

wanna say this was shortly after ows official release? Defs before her rework where she got god mode as an ult and her old ult as a regular skill.

The antagonistic and confrontational tone of the OP might be why players are dropping groups.

its because the way the game has been designed, it puts its playerbase against each other.

gotta get through that dungeon as fast and painless as possible for the rewards. its your group mates fault if that doesnt happen.

For me there is time when i want to heal. If i want to chill and play with one hand i play as healer. Healing is easy maybe not every class i heal as holy priest i press 2 or 3 buttons and everyone all 100% up. So i think it depends on class aswell i cant chill on resto shaman as priest but shaman is more fun because u can dmage

Totally. I love how it is everyone else that’s the issue.

Maybe healing just isn’t your thing bud. That’s fine.

Weird, healing and tanking are my favorite roles. I find the dps role to be boring. As a dps I don’t really need to care about how my buddies health is doing, what their debuffs are, or even their position or if they’re about to step in some bad. As a healer, I have to keep track of the entire battlefield and monitor both the enemy and my party buffs and debuffs. I feel like it gives me much more to pay attention to.

You’re doin’ something terribly wrong then.

I mean…
It’s hard to take him seriously when hes got a flair for the dramatics.

And it’s not mean to say perhaps your healing is lackluster and that’s why they’re leaving

If it’s true it’s the next step toward making that not true

Honestly, I think the new Healer/Tank experience is a very valid critique of WoW’s design in that it does nothing to teach people the basics of how to actually play in a group which creates this super dumb learning curve where healing new groups is insanely difficult, but healing experienced groups is near braindead.

I feel you. I healed every expac since the beginning… but, in SL, just never wanted to deal with the ‘flack’. I read thru comments below… ‘IT’S YOUR FAULT’! … But I watched over and over that people don’t get out of ‘crap’, or don’t use any mitigation given to use to help themselves, … this is the ‘woke world’ … it’s YOUR FAULT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS! So I have NEVER healed in SL. SICK OF THE SHAMING!.. even of late as a DPS THEY BLAME THE HEALS! … so sad. Sometimes it may be inexperienced heals… but others HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY THINK THEY SHOULD BE CARRIED!
Just my opinion!
Edit: I know I will get flack for what is said here…
blaming seems to be the ‘game’. So go ahaed, I don’t care!
