Thank you for your service
I heal and tank dungeons on new alts all the time to grab easy gear to get ilvl to get into something else and donât think Iâve ran into anyone toxic. And yeah right now people are YOLOing heroics and just ignore mechanics I just laugh if they actually manage to die. End of expansion shenanigans and all that.
When they know you triage heal, and see the results, they tend to start doing what they need to do. ![]()
I feel like the amount of salt in this post is far too high for what the OP is claiming happened.
You gotta let the spite fuel you if you heal.
So Iâve looked into this here
and it doesnât seem like wow is considered that toxic, what are your sources?
LolâŠits been like this since world of warcraft launched appreciate your healers!
Itâs just as bad for new tanks as well. Everyone is an
hole who thinks they can do a better job. But they wonât.
ima agree with reynn, if you canât heal heroics, it straight up is a git gud issue. If you canât do that, feel free to never heal again.
Not in WoW but I was in ff14 today and the DPS started pulling the boss while I was still watching the cutscene. I know people are in a hurry but goodness gracious
Weird, i thought ff14 was full of wholesome people who were never mean in any context? has the wow forum mislead me?
Most of the time. But thereâs bad people in every community
In PvE, healing is the easiest role in the game. It is also the most boring role, which is why there arenât enough of them. This shortage causes healers to be on average, worse than the group. It is an effective way to complete content while you get carried by DPS. I say this as a part-time healer.
Everything is not for everyoneâŠ
the fact that heroic dungeons still exist is mind boggling. they are skippable in every sense of the word.
I used to heal some in 5man stuff, but pugs have gotten worse and worse over the years which led to patience wearing thin, so I quit. Who wants to deal with the likes of tunnelvisioning DPS and tanks that pull too much and wonât use mitigation if you paid them to?
Iâm also not on board with the expectation of healers acting as a 4th DPS either. If I queued as a healer Iâm expecting to primarily heal, with any damage I happen to throw in being a little cherry on top.
Also, RIP shield disc.
This is something iâve observed in most games iâve played. Be it dota 2, overwatch, wow, ect. Support is a role where usually theres either no one filling it, or someone only begrudgingly doing so, which somewhat enforces a rules of nature mindset in pubs where anyone who canât take care of themselves is left to get rekt because even the supposed supports are actively working against them, see: lane supports in dota 2 crapping all over creep equilibrium resulting in creep waves heavily favoring the enemy offlane, or healers in wow outright refusing to heal people they deem unworthy resulting in rather innocuous mistakes turning into full on wipes or near wipes.
Playing a good support has much more to do with overall strategy and using the few moves you have wisely than good muscle memory all of the time. Its incredibly easy to get decently high in keys / pvp in wow if youâre somewhat good at identifying what the main problem is. Most players lack this skill of threat identification and just throw heals randomly and then get mad when things donât work out.
Each heal class works kinda different.
Some have upfront healing/preparation and some reactive healing.
Mistweaver is depending on skills and legendary able to do both more or less.
As example for up front/preparation healers:
discipline priest.
They ramp up atonement before some DMG and then heal through dealing DMG.
Holy priest on the other hand is more if a reactive healer, DMG happened and you heal it up.
As for monk,
Playing with Ancient teachings of the monetary offers a ramp up style,
Playing with Tear of the morning offers a reactive style.
Please correct if anything I said is wrong.
Baseline for my argument is, you may have to find your preferred style of healing.
I love these kind of posts.
Sounds like youre not ready for heroics.
