Correction, some are blood elves and some are high elves. You actually see several blood/high elf pilgrims in Telargus Rift.

And to this day, no one explains how they become purple blood elves, and what made them embarrassed with the void was an accident and not a ritual.
And to say that a high elf can become a purple blood elf, for studying the void is a joke or an insult to people’s intelligence, because I don’t see any arcane’dorei out there, just because a high elve or blood elf played a lot time with arcane energy.

You’re so dead set on this tropey fantasy that the “pretty elves have to be in the good side”… yet, you play a draenei, the more out there race in a stricly fantasy setting.

your right, both factions now have their own Thalassian Elves playable, that can look similar or identical to what traditional High Elves looked like before the Scourge Invasion, but Quel’Thalas will always be High Home for Thalassian Elves.
Oh I have made my peace with the Alliance having darker elements/non-RTS elements to it A LONG time ago(not that I think the draenei are a dark element, it is part of the whole good guy appeal to think that what you look like does not matter so as much as what you do).
We have warlocks, death knight, worgens, dark irons. Long considered enemies now either trusted friends or at least allies due to having a shared cause.
I am willing to think the Alliance can keep many of its roots(like the original race rooster of humans, elves, gnomes and dwarves) while still having space for new allies to join like the draenei and the worgens. You seem stuck on a binary thought process.

The night elves were not part of the original Alliance of Warcraft 2-3.
Not every Elf of Silvermoon did/shares in the current government’s belief.
And High elves were not part of the Alliance in WC3.
So… again, which is it?

The current government? You say that like its some unpopular soon to be overturned thing. The main body of High Elves? The official government of the main population of High Elves? The Kingdom of Quel’thalas? Is that what you mean?

I expect a story to stay internally consistent
Internal consistency on years of playing shows High Elves as an Alliance force with incredibly few on the Horde, and Blood Elves as a Horde force with incredibly few (like, one) on the Alliance. These are things that have happened since Warcraft 3
Its also why I hate Void Elves so much, because they’re not internally consistent and why a good 90% of my support for High Elves is to weaken the Void Elf position. I consider people wanting more BElf customisations a victory as it slowly but surely erodes the VElf position, but my truest victory is something taking the most rolled Allied Race slot from them

Factions aren’t going to stop existing if we give Void Elves natural hair colours. Blood Elves and Void Elves are still going to be their own race, at least as far as character selection goes.
In lore they’re identical to each other because they’re the exact same people. You can see Alliance-aligned Blood Elves bunkering up with the Void Elves in Telegrus rift, that’s how similar they are to each other.
Blizzard said these new customization options were to represent HIgh Elves, for both Alliance and Horde. Why should one side get the full package while the other side doesn’t? High Elves have been in the Alliance since Vanilla, Alleria looks like one and they’re still, up to Shadowlands, with the Alliance. If anyone should be getting full High Elf options, I think it should be us(I don’t think it should be like that though, and I think Horde should get to play proper High Elves too).

And not every elf heeded Anasterian, many of those same elves remained loyal to the Alliance to this day.
What I mean is not every elf agreed to Lother’mar. Hell you even have a blood elf being mind controlled to this day in Silvermoon because he was speaking out against Lother’mar.
One of those said “traitors elements” happened to be Kael’thas himself at one point.

Who are the Elves loyal the Alliance?
Amicable in some regards, but the Silver Cov is a part of Dalaran? And Dalaran is neutral?
Where were they during BFA and the war?

Same place as the Hozen, the Jinyu, the Taunka, the Dragonmaw, the Broken, the Frost Dwarves and every other minor group that’s part of the factions but didn’t show up
