SoM Population is so low you don’t have to end it early it will just slowly fizzle out. Mega Server Jom-Gabbar has plenty of guilds that are just hemorrhaging players. 1 KT kill and you lose 15% of your Raid roster. Blizzard is not aware of these things though, just look at how they handled SoM from the start. Effectively crippling 90% of the servers due to low population.
I don’t believe people are asking Blizzard to end SoM Early or even at all. Allowing transfers to WOTLk from SoM (Assuming cloning) would not impact SoM. It would just allow people to play their SoM tons on WOTLK while also be able to finish up their SoM content. 1 Clone per a character to stop people from double dipping.
People want to play their SoM toons as their mains for WOTLK. You Open up Transfers from SoM to TBC/WOTLK and then have people pay a fee just like with old cloning if they want to keep their toon in SoM to finish out the last phase.
Easy solution for Blizzard and they make money from people desperate enough to pay 15$ for 45 days of playtime on a toon before the season ends.

You really think blizzard was gonna just Blackhole every toon on SoM when they ended the season?
Transfers at the end of the season have always been implied. Look at Diablo 3. Every new season your Old Toons become SC characters.
Please dont do this. Let them go to classic or TBC classic, but why Wrath? they werent even in TBC…

They have no intentions of doing TBC classic. Classic Vanilla Wow (Not Som) is literally dead and cloning to TBC has already been retired.

SOM players elected to play a terrible version of the game instead of progressing to the next expansion… why on earth would anyone want these players or these character to skip an expansion to play on another expansion? Adding to it that most of these people have gold cap and unique rare items that they normally would never have if they played on a real server.
SOM should stay in SOM… but apparently letting them transfer is Blizzards way of saying “we aren’t doing SOM ever again and we don’t wanna listen to these kids cry ever again”… just come out and say that Blizzard.
