I scrapped a 370 azerite armor piece from today’s Honorbound emissary, and received no Titan Residuum.
I scrapped 8 pieces that I had in my bags yesterday because I no longer need them and was saving them in case they buffed/nerfed certain traits. I don’t care about that anymore so I cleaned up my bags yesterday. Only 1 piece of azerite gear that I scrapped (all 370) resulted in any Titan Residuum. I wasn’t sure if this was due to the fact that the pieces were obtained prior to 8.1, but today’s emissary could not have been pre 8.1
I was just wondering if this was bugged, or if the Titan Residuum isn’t guaranteed.

I was wondering the same thing. Seems bugged imo otherwise it will take months to get a single piece of gear from that currency. Especially since you can get 390 gear in Darkshore.

I am seeing the same results, 375, 360, 355, all resulted in NO Titan residuum. Big fat zero. Been saving this gear since it was announced that scraping would yield the currency. WTF.

Gear, pre 8.1, won’t yield the residuum. It’s azerite gear earned after the patch that is scrappable for the currency.
In my particular case, I took that into account on some of the things I scrapped, but even the pieces I have obtained afterward have only once given Titan Residuum.

I’d like to know why I only get 1 titan residuum when I scrap a 340 piece. It would takes hundreds to get enough for an item.

1 per 340 is by design at least. but 0 for a 370 shouldn’t be the way of it

I have been getting titan residuum until yesterday when none of my characters got any from scrapping after doing the assault, darkshore, etc today 1/15/2019. I have one piece so far and need to get more. Please fix this Blizz.

I disenchanted 5 azerite piece of gear today, and out of 5, only 4 given titan residuum.
I’m unsure if that piece of gear was obtained 8.1, as i cannot remember anymore.
My only guess is it was pre 8.1… it’s only 12 TR but that is like 0.1675% of 7165 TR
I am on WA. I scrapped a newly obtained level 370 azurite piece yesterday or day before and did not receive any Titan Residuum either. Can’t remember if it was on this toon but think so.
People have reported on testing (like on wowhead) that you get 0 residuum sometimes. More feel bad mechanics please!
I too have not received Titan Residuum from scrapping Azerite Armor. I went out today to complete several WQs for the Azerite Armor reward with the intent of scrapping the rewarded gear; none of the gear gave me Titan Residuum when scrapped. Is Titan Residuum a chance on scrap or am I missing something about how the system works?
Thanks!
I’m also not getting Titan Residuum from world quest rewards and 370 Honorbound Azurite armor. I haven’t seen an official statement that says that it’s random, and if it was, wouldn’t it be a random amount rather than “all or nothing?”
Up until this last update, scrapping azerite dropped 1 titan residuum for 340lvl armor, 3 titan residuum for 355lvl armor and 12 titan residuum for 370lvl armor, every time. Picked up three pieces today, all 355lvl, and got none at all. So whatever this bug is it just started this week. For me anyway.
I too have been having this problem. Most of the stuff I’ve been scrapping has been azerite items from WQ caches and such. While searching for an answer I stumbled across this obscure news item:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/202509
Seems in my case, I wasn’t making sure my items were of epic quality… who knew? Not me. Sadly lost a bit of coin since I could’ve vendored those items.
Live and learn I guess.
Thanks for that response Cofi. That’s my issue with scrapping azurite gear awarded from world quests. They’re only blue quality.
I received a response about my 375 epic helm that gave no Titan Residuum. Apparently, it was created on 11/15 and therefore no longer eligible for Titan Residuum. I understand that they want to discourage players from stockpiling turn-ins, but this feels like a punishment for players who acquired gear early. With a little foresight, they could have added a separate scrapper which only accepts titan residuum eligible gear. Much of the confusion would have been clarified before items were destroyed.
Since my item restoration is on cool-down, I have to make do with a 355 blue helm from a world quest until another head piece drops for me.
Same thing happened to me last night. I scrapped a 355 piece that I received from a WQ and received no titan residuum. Guess we can’t expect much from a beta game or a small indie company at this point.
I think what confused me is that the 8.0 guides about attaining titan risiduum spoke about ilevel but not quality. So the blue drops from world quests don’t provide titan residuum. It’s all quite confusing.
My TR drop has gone to the dogs. I learned not to even try blue a good while back.
IMHO, if you scrap a sellable purple, you should get at least 3 TR. Why scrap something you could sell for 125-150g for nothing?
Sadly you can no longer sell azerite armor unless they reversed that change for blue items only.
