I know I’m in the minority that didn’t care much for wotlk, but assume there’s still some people that would rather play a TBC SOM type of server. There are really no plans for that? Or have I missed anything?
I would play on it.
Won’t play any So-whatever ever again. But I would happily have stayed in a TBCC Era server. I’m sad they never made those.
yeah rip tbc era and assumingly wrath era aswell
Poop tbc. L
sad they didnt let one server stay TBC. I would’ve stayed.
They should make one TBC server and leave it as-is forever.
The only thing I miss about TBC are the raids. As a result, I’d probably only play TBCC era if someone paid me 50k a year to do it. It’s easily the weakest of the classics and the one I most associate with the term “grinding”.
I hope that ActiBlizz realizes that they’re going to lose so many subs if they do not give Wrath Era, but as ActiBlizz is renowned for stupid decisions, I fear it won’t happen.
I have stated my ideas which at the same time is a criticesm of Cata in this thread, https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/cataclsm-classic-ideas/394643 but I want to repeat here:
After reading and thinking I realized that most of the frustrations we suffer from playing WotLK C. come from people mostly playing WoW in three different ways. Sorry about the naming. I’m still somewhat buggered over all the errors, bugs and pure idiocy in Wrath and Classic Era. Please bear with me. We have these three player types:
- MinMaxers: Raid(logg)ing end-game lovers
- FisherFriends: Exploring, questing, enjoying the ride and a dungeon now and then.
- Barbie Dolls: RPers who wants their 'toon to look nice and have epic socials and long talks.
And those three furthermore exist in PvP and PvE versions.
So for Cata C. for the EU English realms we need to
- Keep all the old realms in Wrath C. state
- Be offered free copying / cloning to one of these 6 Cata C. realms:
- Peon: Raiding PvP
- Lumberjack: Raiding PvE
- Exploding Sheep: Exploring PvP
- Holy Cow: Exploring PvE
- The Drag: RP-PvP
- Three Winds: RP-PvE
If queues should happen, offspring realms should be made, called the same as the parent realm, but numbered, for instance Peon-2. The names taken on the parent realm should also unavailable there – enabling a painfree consolidation later.
We need basically 1 PVE and 1 PVP realm for the Americas and the same for Europe for each expac. I know people would like east and west coast separate but the ping is negligible and if everyone plays on the same server, groups will form around convenient time periods for everyone. And if Blizz wants to run a SOM, that can be an additional pair for the current expac they want to run it on. Heck, do a base pair for each expac, and then run a rotating SOM for each expac on an 18 month pattern, 6 months for each, with a compacted timetable. Do Classic Plus. Don’t even do Cata, just do Classic plus with QOL changes from Cata or beyond that don’t ruin gameplay.
I would be amazed if they didn’t leave a wrath era and just moved on to poopclysm while I watch half the playerbase quit
I mean who didn’t love Kara. Wtf.
Once WotLK Classic ends, they should just spin up two servers, PvE and PvP, for each expansion and let people play what they want.
And then relaunch classic two, alongside cata.
Keep the Era servers. We did not return to have our characters wiped!
I totally favor separate legacy servers. Players could then choose which xpacs they want to play.
Separate servers for each xpac bc-mop
As long as the Classic Era and Wrath Era servers stay, you can have all the other ones for me ![]()
i think the only answer that makes sense is this: SOM was a failure
