No sense of accomplishment

I have been reading many of the posts on here and if you listen carefully, you can hear these words:

“Where is the sense of accomplishment?”

The release of this was lackluster at best. There are no separate servers. Even the little check box to enter as a self-found character was almost hidden. It is almost as if Blizzard said, “Let’s give them some half-a$$ed excuse for self-found and maybe they will shut up about it”.

It is so sad.

So, how to fix this:

  1. Separate server, separate economy, separate everything.

  2. Take a portion of the Blizzard web site and dedicate to those of us who take part in this undertaking.

  3. List those participating in the Self-Found experience on the website and follow their progress. It is a simple thing to do, good grief there is an add-on that does it.

  4. If by any chance the player gets to 60 then place them in a hall of fame on the server and list their name in a special building, One for Alliance, and one for Horde.

  5. For those who finish, give them a special piece of gear with crazy stats.

This is just my opinion, but I think this could have been a big win for Blizzard, but instead, they dropped the proverbial ball… Again.

No sense of accomplishment? What are you really expecting? Hardcore has existed for a while now and the rules are clear: Don’t die. The sense of accomplishment? Do as much as you can, without dying. Self-found is a minor addition to that. The accomplishments should be your own.

  1. I don’t want separate servers and wouldn’t even play HC SF
  2. HC isn’t big, and SF isn’t making it any bigger. Blizzard’s focus is retail WoW and the next 3+ expansions. Classic is a side-project. This is nothing world-shatteringly new and private servers have been delivering past WoW xpacs and different modes for years already.
  3. Bots will claim top-spots on any leaderboard rankings; who wants that? Eg: See Runescape. Having a leaderboard will sour self-accomplishing spirit, and encourage toxic discussions and tactics to game rank.
  4. Wouldn’t mind that!
  5. Eh, I don’t want OP gear; I’ve already had fun with wacky gear 1-shotting things and it’s fun for a few minutes :stuck_out_tongue:

You are probably right about all of what you have said.

I just thought it would have been nice. Something along the lines of ‘Last Epoch’.

They have an incredible number of ways to participate in Self-Found and Solo Self-Found. They have a special leader board on their website for all the different categories. The streamers love it.

As you play you can join a special guild and the more faction you have with the guild the better your drop-rate on gear.

It is a well thought out game that is growing by the minute.

I don’t want to leave Blizzard as I have been with them since the beginning but, the only reason I am here now is for Classic Hard Core. I may end up trying Last Epoch.

of course blizzard’s implementation of SF is half hearted and in many ways dumb :expressionless: we just gotta make the best of it.

It beats having streamers/people like Sodapoppin buying gold and using it in hardcore to buy a 10K gold offhand in a GDKP. Did that guy get banned from wow, fortunately haven’t seen his cheating a&s.
