I understand all the non demon hunters will come say getover it… and thats fine. But @ blizzard it feels really bad to feel dang near obligated to choose my druid over my demon hunter even though the demon hunter is more fun… because playing without a way of removing roots feels so horrible.
I agree its a very helpless feeling for the “mobility” class
I’ve always felt the same way. No CC feels worse on my DH than a root. Every class is forcefully locked down with a stun, that’s the point. But even in melee range, a DH cannot use Fel Rush, Vengeful Retreat, or (IIRC) the Hunt while rooted.
Just give us a class tree talent to spec into root removal when using Vengeful Retreat!
With Warriors getting a way to get out of roots, I’d like to see Demon Hunters get something similar. DH can’t be a gnome yet
It is bad, not to mention the amount of damage you take before most roots even remove. (PvP) going into meta should for sure remove roots.
I personally feel like Netherwalk needs a buff to this end.
This game has too much mobility as is. The mobility arms race is ridiculous. Tone down movement, not add more ways to ignore CC
Doesnt help that a bunch of people think dh can anyway because hunter can.
In PVP, if you’re jumping you can VR out of a root.
Try spamming double jump and then VR when root hits.
I imagine that has to do with the glimpse pvp talent and somehow making the game think you are in vr already when the root hits, but that’s pretty niche and doesnt help at all in pve

Could always throw on warmode for an open world solution? Rain from above is pretty fun vs NPCs too! Really wish they’d just make it a spell.
We should really get the cleansed by the flame un-nerfed given the shear amount of CC being constantly pumped out in PVP, especially by frost mages.

I wish it did too. (Glimpse, the PvP talent you are referring to, does not do this btw)
This is actually a really good piece of advice. I think burning the cooldown on vengeful retreat is fair for that.

vengfull retreat needs it baseline full stop.
if they want to make it a 30-35 sec cd and all our talent things get a 40-50% longer/50% more over x time effects to compensate so dps does not go down dh would have no complaints about it. if anything it would line up a little better with eyebeam sigel and ess break windows.
being able to break out with what is supposed to already be a break out/movement/combo starter and do your combo is what it is made for, just sitting in a root is the worst feeling in the game
They could just extend the “snare removal” from vengeful retreat to include roots.
