Trust me, AT BEST it’s a weighted rng, similar to the “rng” in Diablo.

You are likely to hear it happen because who comes to the forums and posts about it. Not the people who get what they wanted. You got a chest 3 weeks ago, a ring 2 weeks ago, and a wrist this week. You got 3 different loot for 3 different weeks.

Especially with all the other grind content in this expac, and not to mention the removal of convenience items like the Flight Whistle, and now having to go to your covenant to select the daily emissary quests, rather than being able to go right to them and begin completing for the day. A lot more time sinks in this expac. Just looking for a little fun to balance out the monotony.
If an exact piece of loot drops, you should be able to reroll that slot.
Alternative, one of the currencies you can choose could be used to buy a specific piece, kinda like residuum, but for every slot.

Certainly feels like it. With so many getting repeats, and so few getting BIS or upgrades each week, it feels weighted. Duplicates are the easiest code to account for. Each item in the game has a unique value string. All the coder would have to do is check if previous generations of the items are equal to that unique identifier, if so re-roll another item, check for the unique identifier and see if there is a match, re-roll if needed, until you come to a non-match between the unique identifiers. It’s a simple code fix.

Would love to just eliminate the great vault.
Figure out a way to rework valor into the primary mythic+ upgrade path to gear > 210 somehow.
A weekly lootcrate to me just feels wrong.

Yeah I am- stop pulling the dam lever and stop believing the casino is gonna listen to you and not give you dupes. Understand the term "Working as indented " then all your ingames issues will be solved . The less number of player participate in this nonsense the better it will be for everyone. 
Yea, the vault has a well-known tendency to drop already acquired gear.
Blizz keeps it that way to increase #timeplayed metrics.
Blizz will never fix it so it’s sucks.

We were taking about this for all of classic watching the same trash items drop in raids and the good items dropping so rarely.

Yep, blizz went back into the ol playbook for sl xpac to make players spend more time in game.
I make it simple.
1 m+, and whatever I get from raid. That’s it. No farming m+, no running multiple levels of raid, no getting rating screwed in pvp.
1 m+ and friendly guild raid group. Then I log off.

So were the original devs also designing a game to pad “time played” by making so many drops trash and so few drops per player?
From your post it sounds like you enjoyed titanforging fishing, which we will have to agree to disagree on.
Time played metric and rng. Gotta run more keys to improve your rng which blizz wants because that increases your time played

This whole season, across all characters, I’ve never ONCE gotten a duplicate of what I had. I know this, because I’ve been waiting for it to happen.
I’ve gotten items that were not upgrades or were downgrades, so I just took the stygia. But never the item I had.
So our RNG evens out
