No reason to not have flying in Azuremyst Isle

I know the original theory for no flying in Azuremyst Isle was because it’s actually part of the Outland map with Silvermoon and Silvermoon is a shonky cardboard pizza box of a city. But that doesn’t make any sense to me considering you can fly in the rest of Outland. We all know that blizz can have all sorts of sub sectioned areas for flying and no flying, even within the same zone. Besides, you can’t reach Silvermoon from Azuremyst Isle anyway due to fatigue.

This reads like “I’m no game developer but obviously this would be easy to do for reasons I don’t understand but I mean how hard could it be?”

lol wut? The crashed exodar is fully rendered. Silvermoon isn’t.

It doesn’t matter whether Azuremyst Isle is part of the Outlands map or not. It was built before Cataclysm and thus not designed for flying around.

To do so would require a significant amount of work for virtually no payoff whatsoever, especially considering it’s a starter zone.

Reasons not to have flying in any zone ever (since BC):

  1. Lazy devs
  2. Refer to point #1.

And the rest of Outland I guess doesn’t exist then???

BC introduced flying…

So you want them to focus on fixing problems to fly in azuremyst/bloodlust/ghostlands/eversong forest and cut out features of something in Shadowlands

Or do you want them to focus on Shadowlands and let legacy content be legacy content

Actually yes. I’d rather they divert some resources to fixing up the rest of the game. Because last time I checked, it’s the World of Warcraft. Not the World of [Insert latest expac here].

They actually have to redo the skybox, its much lower than you think.

Maybe they can add it in the possible next expansion .
They are probably already throwing around ideas for the next xpac .

They do say they plan 2 expansions ahead.

Then you clearly don’t understand how resources work

They literally have to redo the skybox, redo the zone because by ground you only see the ground point of view

When you fly up you see holes on the other side of the mountain for example

It’s not just “lul turn on flying” they literally have to fix everything to let you fly

Those said hours could be something else to fix in Shadowlands

If they had done it your way you’d be back on the forums “why is shadowlands bad I’m unsubbing”

Heaven forbid they fix up some of the old zones :scream:

What’s the matter? Afraid you’re going to compromise your [Insert next garbage rented power progression mechanic that everyone hates here]?

More like you don’t understand how much time and effort it would do to get said flying

You didn’t read the guys post maybe relinking his quote would help

Maybe reading mine would help you too. Seeing as for some reason you think what I said was to divert all funding away from the next expac.

Here, I’ll quote it for you:

You think the devs get to decide to just go ahead and change the zones, but decided not to because they are lazy?

This is a top level design decision where they most likely feel the cost vs. benefit of redoing these old starter zones is just not there. Especially now with the new starting experience you can kiss those zones ever getting updated good bye.

People have read what you’ve typed. That doesn’t mean their answer isn’t correct. Its just not the one you want to hear.

That goes both ways.

Okay I can see this going nowhere fast.

Would be nice if they updated in those zones so we could fly.

Agreed. Bye
