No really...what did you expect

Am I the only person planning on starting my Classic journey next week after the circus has packed up and the dust has settled?

The first week, no matter what was always going to be a cluster and the amount of people giving themselves headaches because they weren’t able to experience a flawless launch within the first 10 hours is staggering.

Scenario 1:
You are waiting in queue for 7 hours waiting to login.

Scenario 2:
You are able to login straight away but get disconnected and sent to the back of the line.

Scenario 3:
You’re able to login and stay logged in but there are 37 other players attacking the same boar as you.

Most likely scenario:
All of the above.

My hype for Classic has been extremely reserved due to being able to foresee what today would be like, and I’m so glad I didn’t spend any annual leave taking this week off work.

It wasn’t that bad. But you do you man.

I didn’t have much trouble and at most a 45 min queue I had. Which is still a lot but I’ve been able to quest no problem.

After going through several expansion releases, I knew it was going to be a cluster F, but this surpassed even my expectations.

I ended up laughing maniacly at the 25k queues on some of the servers. Even my backup server had a 10k queue.

You just gotta laugh it off like WHELP GUESS WE’RE NOT PLAYING CLASSIC TONIGHT, BOYS!

None of that happened to me. It was a bit laggy, but overall a great experience.

Oh, it was. 7500 queue.

It was bad enough that I went to sleep 3 hours earlier than usual so I could wake up early and play instead of waiting it out.

I planned on waiting at least a week but I got on to make characters with the newer servers. I was going to treat Monday as a second name day.

I made the mistake of actually playing. Next thing I know, half the night is gone and I was having a blast.

Yep, perhaps I was a lucky one, but I had almost no issues

I 100% expected everything that happened for launch. Im such a fanboi that i enjoyed my 5 levels of gameplay, getting kicked and coming back to a 20k queue.

Day 2 = woke up 2 hours earlier than normal, did some exercises (will rethink about doing those ever again), cup or coffee in hand, and i still have a 2300 queue. I absulutly love it.

Scenario 4: OP is an idiot and doesn’t know wtf he is talking about it. I didn’t wait in a single queue, I didn’t disconnect once, there wasn’t a single time where there was 37 other players attacking the same boar. I’ve gotten up to lvl 16 and am having a blast, as are many other people in the game. Gtfo of here with your negativity

After getting the kids to bed and laundry and dishes done, i sat down to login and play with from friends from work. I had about 40 mins wait in the queue. So I went and took out the garbage and did a few other things. Then I was able to login… and that was it. Other than the queue, I had no more issues the entire night. So I can’t complain really. Enjoyed playing and chatting with friends in classic.

Why wait a week, login and get your classic fix now!

I expected far worse than I got. I went into it oddly anticipating the chaos and knowing things could be a huge mess in every way. It turned out to be a much better experience than I’d thought it would be and am a happy camper. The highlight of the night was running to Undercity before anyone else and grabbing tons of screenshots of the place empty of all but NPCs. That’s a launch memory I’ll keep for years.

Never underestimate the power of a queue to facilitate getting chores done. Multi task ftw.

Pot, meet kettle.

Launch days are always messy, but things will eventually get themselves in place.

I like to treat launch days as an event by itself and, despite all the nonsense, its a thing that happens only once.

Try to enjoy all the madness and spend the time you wait for things chatting with people and making new friends!

I’m actually mad at myself for not taking a screenshot of the moment I spawned in Shadowglen and saw nothing but a sea of elves in all directions. Doing flippy jumps of course. It was a sight I’ll never see again, but I spent too much time goggling and grinning and totally forgot to take a screenie.

I was able to log in after a 17 minute queue and wasn’t disconnected at all.

Logging out then deciding to stay up a bit and go back in was a mistake though (3 hour queue)

Swap servers?

I logged in right away at 3. Ran my human to the NE zone. Questing was more difficult than usual with the number of people, but that was expected. Mostly I grouped up with people and claimed a spot. I made 3 friends, buffed countless people and was buffed back like crazy. Someone gifted me a green wand for helping them kill Oakenscowl, all in all I really enjoyed my 1st day of classic. Looking forward to many more good times!

As a side note, I would suggest if you want to add a friend you add the character instead of the battletag. I added battletag and a bit later they were on different characters and I had no clue who was who. Just my opinion.
.Happy hunting!

Can’t swap servers, unless you can get my entire guild to do it.

Logged on last night, 21k queue.

Noped right out.

Logged on this morning before work and no queue.

Likely wont be on much until next week.
