You can get BOEs for some slots, but not all. The post said full iLvl 200 from the AH. You can’t kit out a caster in full 200 that way. You can get like Head/Shoulder/Bracers from dungeon boe blues, only 1 is even any good (Runecaster Mantle), and you can get a weapon from blacksmiths, maybe a ring (unsure if JC’s make BOE rings, don’t think they can so sub in Kirin Tor ring) and a darkmoon card? you still got like 10 slots to fill.
For context, in the post of mine you replied to, I was replying to someone who used the same term “compelled” as an argument against RDF, in their saying that players would be too “compelled” to run RDFs. I was just using their same term in the context within which they meant it to apply.
It’s not comparable. World tours require hours at a time to do, you have to go out of your way to run a group like this. Single dungeon groups are much more common, most people don’t have the time or want to spend hours running a world tour, certainly not every day. I did two and it was more exhausting than raiding, and my group wasn’t bad.
With RDF you’re compelled/forced because it’s either RDF or no groups if everybody is just queuing up and ignoring LFG.

Sorry, some of the preraid BiS in the AH is ilvl 187 lvl 80 gear, usually if it’s blue. I’m trying to think of a piece of gear you can’t fill from the AH and I’m drawing a blank.
But the overall point still stands, people are either using World Tours so they aren’t punished by having to use the new LFG tool and can only dabble with it as little as possible, or they’re ignoring 5 mans and buying gear, be it off the AH or pvp vendors or in raids.

If feel like it takes 10,000 years for a group to form and that RDF would make it so people can actually get quests done and level without waiting for proper groups to be listed.
RDF is small commitment compared to world tours where you spend more time doing dungeons than a raid. It’s not comparable, world tour groups are a tiny minority compared to daily dungeon groups or one offs of any dungeon.
Well you can only really fill 1 trinket slot, unless you are buying a darkmoon card purely for the iLvL with no useful stats/effects on it. If you get a weapon from a BS for a caster, thats a 1 hander, so you have an unfilled offhand. None of the caster 187 gear is BIS for any caster dps I’m aware of, the only non-200 pieces we’d use are pants and shoulders from SWP (which are notably, not BOE)
If you are a tailor you can make chest/gloves/belt for yourself, but cloth is dirt cheap. So the implication you’d have to RMT is pretty absurd. So you can get blue bracers, and blue shoulders boe. So that leaves you without boots, pants, head, neck, oh, wand, 1 trinket, 1 ring.
A dev actually said something about RDF recently?
Not having RDF makes it so that any player who is behind the curve stays there.
RDF is needed to help close the gap.

Alright, dissection this because you didn’t to look at this at all.
Your belt is Ulduar, your Boots are Ulduar, Your pants are from ICC, Your 2nd is frost resist (so not BIS), your wand is iLvl 175 so not iLVL 200 and not BIS. Your OH, is a healing item and not BIS. Your weapon is a melee DPS on a caster loot list. (Should just a BS sword here), and you have no head slot.
So again, no you cannot kit out a caster in BIS iLvL 200 gear using the AH.
Most of the people I have seen who are anti-RDF are also anti Flying and while they will not admit it at first, when pushed, they always get to their root cause - wPVP
If you argue long enough it get down to they dont have enough lowbies to gank in the world and they believe if there is no RDF or flying, they will have people to kill
Its why I always argue for a different set of rules on PvP servers.
Perfect server for me would be no PvP outside of BGs and RDF and LFR

Whats the point of being so proud of ganking people on servers that are 90%+ faction imbalanced. Congratulations you and the other 9,000 Alliance can kill the only 10 horde on the server. Or vice versa. Its so lame.

I play in a PvE server and I don’t want RDF, your argument is in shambles.
I already figured this is the only reason people were against RDF. It’s an indirect way for them to say, don’t cut in to my profits by allowing people to q in to random dungeons.
