Just trying to decide on a main for next expac, and wondering if anyone has done any testing to see if not talenting rapidfire is a viable playstyle. Would be focused on Trueshot and Wind Arrows.
This is a rough talent tree of what my build would be

Small note, Hydra’s bite won’t trigger off Aimed Shot, but Poison Injectors will. Also, may just be me but I’m not digging putting 4pts into TS right now.
For non-rapid fire. I find the flow ok with a build focused around Aimed Shot, Arcane/Multi, Kill Shot, and Steady Shot. No focus issues, ect. It’s nice to avoid Rapid Fire shooting blanks. After the 15% AS nerf though, it really fell behind in performance.

Appreciate the response, I was also looking at dropping the TS points for Wailing arrow and WB for more wind arrow synergy. Maybe thats better?
Just drop Hunter altogether…
Really great response, you should drop social interaction altogether since you have no clue how that works.
Have a great day!

Worth a try, but I really believe you’re going to get focus-starved outside of Trueshot windows.

Ya, I’ve since done a little bit of testing and its big time focus starved. I’ll just have to run Rapidfire and get over it. Oh well.
Exactly. Too bad because it would give us another option in the talent tree. But let’s see how it is in the endgame when we’re level 70.
Hmm wonder what you’re doing differently. I never run short of focus. Only issues I have are things just don’t hit hard enough and I have to wait on Aimed Shot refresh or KS procs.
AS, Arcane, 2xSteady, Arcane and I run down the AS refresh at about the 2 min mark. Swap in multi for arcane in AE. Kill Shot on availability. Either high mobility or open world content and it’s a non issue.
My issue is mostly that things don’t hit hard enough though. Early testing my Aimed was a 30k+ hitter without all the procs going off with it. At that point it felt almost comparable to BM. Now it’s often a sub 20k and feels anemic.
BM, and for that matter every other class I play feels monstrous in comparison.
It’s not that I’m entirely focus starved more that I’m just casting Steady shots and Arcane shots while waiting on Aimed Shots like you said. It just feels like its missing a shot or two which Rapidfire obv is meant to fill that hole somewhat.
Yep. Been this way for a Long Long time…
Spending focus on a non-buffed Arcane Shot- feels bad. And now feels badder…
