MMO tribalism detected. Opinion: Ignored.
Tell me you can’t refute points without telling me you can’t refute points
Can’t? Maybe. Don’t want to? Yes.
I do play them, you’re not making any argument beyond a minority that you can’t even prove exists at such a small number.
They didn’t say that word for word, you’re only assuming that because a triple A company doesn’t know how to make financial decisions anymore. Reason why the player base has been declining steadily. They don’t put the playerbase ahead of the dollar, which makes more people not want to play.
You’ll actually find FFXIV has been GAINING unlike wow’s subscription base.
You can find both of these in a simple google search, so don’t come begging for me to do it for you.
Actually it does. WoD Garrisons alone negate your point. They already have the framework from Garrisons to obliterate your point about instance servers.
And Pet battles obliterate your point about content needing to be added solely because there are players in the majority have expressed interested in it.
People have been asking for housing since the closed beta for vanilla. And the last time WoW was really popular was when the expansion with the kinda-sorta player housing was attached to it.
Also, it’s really weird that someone is actively going out of their way to attempt to discredit player housing by claiming no one wants it. Thus far you’ve demonstrated…
1: You can’t distinguish the difference between a traditional boxed game and a subscription service. You don’t need to sell people on a subscription game, you need to get them to stay.
2: You like to invoke numbers you couldn’t possibly know.
3: You like to invoke the idea of it’s itemization being potentially done poorly as an argument against it.
4: You like to cling to the idea that because WoW still sells that it can’t be doing anything wrong while failing to grasp that WoW’s spent over a decade stealing the other guys ideas and just doing them better.
Normal people would just say housing isn’t their thing and move on.
You are the only who crying about it, I even said some stuff you said would be completely fair, if your take is bad people are gonna call it bad, idk why acting like this.
I was being completely civilized, I explained every single point I made and brought up evidence to enhance my arguments, you are just mad because your opinions were dismantle and you can’t accept your bad take is bad, every reply you make is full of yourself while lacking actual argument, kinda pathetic, have a good day too
That doesn’t mean they are a majority or enough players to make it a good investment.
Lmao WoD is considered one of the worst expansions. You clearly don’t even have a clue what you’re talking about. Legion is considered the last popular expansion not WoD.
This doesn’t matter. At all.
To add features to a game it requires an investment from the company. They clearly don’t see the investment worth it for the little return they would get.
See above. It’s a very simple concept. If enough people actually wanted player housing they would do it.
You clearly don’t actually understand my argument as I’m pointing it out from a business standpoint and not posting based on feelings.
Making assumptions. I never once stated that Blizzard is perfect. You are clearly not comprehending my points that you made this argument.
The same garrisons that everyone that wants player housing hated? Where they would have to start from scratch?
It still doesn’t. You’re not comprehending the lack of return.
From my perspective, players hated the Garrison because there was nothing to do once you left it. It was a literal meme to do circles around your fountain cause the expansion was so dry. And before anyone says it, I’m going to call BS on the Garrison causing content to be stagnated throughout the entire expansion. The point was, the framework is there to at least get started. You have assets laying all over the place in every single expansion that they could pull from. And they could make it an expansion launch feature so people can’t cry “but muh raid tear”.
What’s the return on pet battling?
WOD brought subscription counts back to ten million. Per Blizzard’s own numbers. You are just wrong, and can’t even admit it.
Legion actually did a worse job retaining subscribers and every system it implemented would end up being a boat anchor within a single expansion pack.
Ion straight up said they want to add housing to the game, but it’s never in the budget.
That is not the same as them saying it’s not worth the investment. Quite to the contrary, they’d do it yesterday, but it’s a problem of time and manpower.
I never said you said that either. But you are awful prone to poo-poo’ing anything other games do exclusively on the altar of, “WELL WORLD OF WARCRAFT IS STILL SELLING!”
WOD had three problems-
It was mostly completed on release with only a skeletal crew being retained to complete a single content patch and raid tier.
Garrisons were so useful that people typically had no reason to leave because it actively removed any reason to go out into the world.
WOD was deliberately pushed out the door despite not being ready so that the dev team could work on the next expansion.
In short, WOD was made bad on purpose. Which became something of a controversy because the game was actually great on release- WOD was easily the best expansion Blizzard had released up to that point, but then about a month later the problems started cropping up. And then you had the news that only a single content patch was going to be released. And that there was going to be a year-long drought from that patch till Legion.
That doesn’t change the fact that it’s the least favored expansion in wows history.
Still doesn’t change the pure fact that legion is considered one of the better expansions.
It’s not in the budget because it’s not a priority. You clearly can’t read between the lines.
Thanks for literally proving my point. They don’t have the time and manpower to justify putting the money and manpower into implementing it.
Nope. I’m just against people demanding the game cater to them and change how it’s been designed for 20 years.
Also you said this
Then admitted WoD wasn’t good
Literally proving my point again
I’m not one blaming the garrison for anything
That’s the only way it would launch is an expansion feature.
Tokens. There’s an entire market just for people that pet battle.
Wh…yes! That’s what I’ve been saying. Make it an expansion launch feature, update it in following patches.
Well ain’t that strange. Players are finding value in content you don’t think the Devs should spend time on. Blasphemy…
You have no say in anything. Hush.
I’m not disagreeing with you that it would be an expansion launch feature.
I haven’t once based any of my comments on my opinion of player housing. You can’t seem to understand my comments are from a business standpoint only. I personally am not against or for player housing. It will be cool for a week and then ignored. I just don’t see it being worth the investment without putting things on a vendor which in turn would cause even more outrage.
You don’t have a clue in anything so hush.
Normal people yes but he gone way beyond obsessed at this point and only wants to argue.
Actually you’re the one who’s not understanding that I don’t care about your business standpoint on the matter. Your viewpoint on player housing is yours. You don’t put much value into it. Cool. There are plenty of other players who disagree with you and would love to see it added to the game.
You care enough to keep responding
Yet they are still the minority.
