No plans for LFR, but RFD and wow token are fine right?

You already crossed much bigger lines already, why stop?

RDF is healthy for the game.

LFR is trash.

LFR wouldn’t be until Dragon Soul anyway.

Because they would have to tune the raids to be lfr friendly and that requires work.

RDF was in OG wrath, we finally got it but it was gatekept from us forever by the lead dev until he got fired. WoW token we coulda done without though for sure. And as far as LFR goes, I never minded it. The gear was a lesser version of the actual raid gear so all lfr did was allow people to do the content first and learn it, and get the achievement so they could actually get invited to the real raid later on. It provided a little in between gear too to help them reach the min requirements for the raid. Can’t really see how it was bad for the game since it didn’t render the real content useless.

LFR would be nice if they added it, I’m, going to go a far as LFD take me and just raid in era, not going to put much effort into cata. Give me convenience or I stop playing.

Imo LFR was bad for the game because it enabled Blizzard the option of making harder and harder content. I believe that both LFR and mythic level difficulties are a mistake currently in retail.

Right now it’s whatever I don’t care. I hate retail and I mean LFR was introduced in Dragon Soul so unless they intend to change items or difficulties of boss fights in Dragon Soul it’s whatever.

But I believe that with the addition of LFR is the reason raids were enabled to become more and more difficult until eventually in SoO we saw the introduction of Mythic. I think the idea of mythic is cool if instead of it dropping gear it was cosmetics. Something like Final Fantasy 14’s Ultimates is the closest example.

LFR to me should’ve been a tutoring of or example of mechanics that happen. The issue with it however is that the mechanics do nothing to punish you so in my experience/opinion 95% of players outside of key roles like tanks or healers just don’t pay attention to them. This is a hindsight view but instead I think what should’ve been implemented is a debuff that when you fail a mechanic or do not do a mechanic right you recieve a -20% damage buff that stays on you for a minute or so (just an example maybe a minute is too long) because while it doesn’t one shot you you notice a difference in your dps or gameplay experience and want to know why your damage randomly dropped and you learn from this. There will obviously be players who are like eh whatever let someone else handle it or figure it out but this will always exist in any game.

you’ll get LFR with DragonSoul.

Put LFR in the game but don’t adjust the difficulty so half of the LFR raids fail to kill the first boss.

I think the exact opposite. Instead of trying to get the just right difficulty for everyone and the constant arguments from those who think it’s too easy and others who think it’s too hard people can find their preferred level of difficulty. Those who just want an easy raid can do lfr for the lesser loot and those who like a challenge can do normals, or heroics, or mythics. It doesn’t hurt me at all if some people want to play a game easier than I play or if other’s play a game harder than me.

you literally cant make classic andies happy. you take out LFR something people have wanted since OG Cata and they complain about something else.

so by your logic RDF is bad for the game to as it enable alpha beta and gamma. so they should remove that too.

Fixed that for you.

Agreed

Do you have an argument as to why its unhealthy?

Or is it just going to be the same tired argument that has been beaten to death during wrath classic before RDF is added?

LFR is trash, Shouldn’t exist.

Could someone explain to me why people who hate it can’t just not use it. I never used it in Cata but it didn’t hurt me at all that other people did.

because why do Normal raids then if you can see and complete the entire story in LFR.
Personally I avoided it unless I’m trying to gear up a fresh Alt to get into raids quickly.

But I know for more casual people they were satisfied with LFR and stopped doing normal raids whereas if LFR didnt exist they would have done normals for the story etc etc.

TLDR: Normal raid attendance/population went down overall because of LFR.

Because the loot from lfr is not as good and doing a raid with a group that works together week after week is more efficient and fun than a group with different strangers every week.

Exactly Why I only like to do Heroic raids with guildies/friends. But i’ve see how it has made a lot of people who have done normals for years decide to do LFR instead, you might be surprised at just how many “casuals” there are that play this game. more than you think. Imo it hurt the game.

It ruined the social aspect of the game and is a massive part of why we wanted classic. There is a reason wrath started bleeding off players the day it was added.
