Of all the classic rogue abilities to make us wait until halfway through leveling to get, Blizzard chooses the one that a 6-year-old street urchin can manage?

They can remove it completely from the game for all I care.
I’d rather they make it interesting and useful.
I don’t want them to keep removing RPG elements. This is an mmoRPG, not an instance simulator.

If they can make it interesting sure. Currently I don’t even macro it in as I don’t need the 20 copper I’ll get from the mob.
Yeah I’m with you on that. But calling it for removal takes things in a bad direction IMO. I want more RPG elements in the game, not less. I want them to improve the RPG elements we have in the game right now rather than take them out because they’re not very good at them.

Pickpocket has its uses in WoD and Legion with its respective currencies for transmog and toy items. Prior to that, it’s a requirement for the Insane in the Membrane feat of strength in order to raise Ravenholdt reputation, lockpicking boxes for more toys and transmog and needed for part of the legendary daggers questline.
It didn’t have a use in BfA though, which is kind of a shame. I hope they make it useful in Shadowlands.

How hard is it to put krol blade 8.0 in the game?
Just put lockboxes in pockets loot tables again along with some generic pocket lint vendor trash.
The problem with them reinventing the wheel in creative ways like dingy iron coins, is it raises the bar and we have seen time and time again blizzard refuses to even meet the standards they set for themselves.
So just do what it always was. A random source of gold for rogues who bothered to rememebr to pickpocket humanoids, with potential to award potions, gems, and for the truly lucky an entry-level epic sword. (or throwing weapon. rip thrown.)
So, out of boredom, I decided to go my old runs. Can barely remember my WOD path, plus I had Burst of Speed in those days. Took about 10mins and got the 3k coins. 275g+1653g. I do still have some speed stuff. 
For Legion, took about 6mins for 1617g. Legion is less gold than WOD. D:
Is 3545g in 16mins good gold-per-hour? lol
We’ll probably never see it be a good way of farming gold again. Since, Blizzard seems to want to avoid more gold inflation. But, man. Something would be nice. Pets or cosmetics. Something to sell on the AH… <.<
