I took a gander at the PTR forum and apparently there are no pet battle trainers and no catchable pets in the new zone???
Or has that stuff just not been implemented yet?
Don’t know, haven’t been exploring/following the PTR, but if true it seems too late in the PTR cycle to expect to see new content added.
Hopefully the devs didn’t misinterpret my lack of participation in the odd “capture five pets” task in Chett lists of Undermine as a lack of interest in pet battles in general.

Maybe we gain them over time as the eco-dome thing becomes populated?
I know K’aresh is supposed to be barren, but maybe they just plainly forgot lol.
I am confident that there will be some pets to tame in the wild.
There’s something like 30 new pets, and a few of them have names suggesting that they are enemy battle pets as opposed to wild. I would expect there to be one pet trainer added before the patch is released; if the dataminers haven’t seen it yet, perhaps the battle is bugged.
This is definitely a change I do not enjoy.
I liked doing random pet-battles and catching them myself, it gave me something extra to do whilst trekking from A>B and doing quests, a small break.
Bad change.

even the maw, you know, actual literal hell, had battle pets in it. this might be the first time no new pets have been added to a pve zone since the battle pet system was added

There’s no catchable pets in K’aresh? Why not? I just figured I hadn’t come across any yet, but if there was a conscious decision on the devs part to just not have pet battles in this patch that really sucks.
I hate to say it, but it really feels like the devs are getting lazy when it comes to pet battles. We’re getting less trainers per expansion, it’s been years since a new Raiding With Leashes achievement (last one was way back in 8.1.5 for MoP), no new dungeons, and now a whole new zone with no new pets to capture? Really?

Either they straight-up forgot about this content, or it’s supposed to be like that because it’s K’aresh.
It sucks lol.
What’s funny is there’s actually critters all over the damned place.
They are.
DF had a ton of stuff compared to TWW in regards to this.

Literally 0 new Wild battle pets. Really sad to see. One of the most fun parts of a new patch is getting to see what lil creatures there are to run around and collect!
Especially with the Void themes in this patch! It’s giving the same vibe as the Void-Scarred pets from Ny’alotha. Would have been really cool to expand on that idea and get some new Void-themed pets.
What’s even more insulting is that there are Creatures all over the zone. Cosmic Inchshifter, Caustic Siphonmite, and Wastes Swoopup just from the spot I’m standing in. But I can’t interact with them whatsoever? Huge L for this patch.

That doesn’t really make sense. I mean, Argus and BC Draenor are shattered worlds, too, and they have plenty of catchable pets.
I know that there’s a dome that we’re supposed to help restore. Maybe pets will at least start spawning there?

That’s what I legitimately thought.
But then, I’m like- Blizzard’s just not this smart from a design perspective lol.
I highly doubt they’d have implemented something like this, because it would’ve been seen on the test realms at least.
