Why did the devs abandon SoD?

Its over. GDPS banned and paladins getting 1 easy kill per 5 minutes killed the game. Not to mention the severely underpowered shamans. Blizzard shot themselves in the foot and thats why they are abandoning SoD.
Pack it up people, its time to go home now

SoD has been discarded now with Cata coming out.
What do you mean ‘again’ ?
We got patch notes on the 12th, expect to see notes this 19th.

They’re busy working on Cata Beta atm. Small team, SoD is online and playable so it’s gotta take a backseat for a bit.
They don’t love us anymore and are breaking up. 
The eternal Blizzard white knight strikes again. I’d accuse you of being an intern, but we all know they’re too cheap to hire people to interact with their community.

You can check my posting history, I have and will continue to point out where they make mistakes (and they do a lot). But some of this whinging is completely inexcusable. Complaining about the March 19th patch notes not existing when it’s not even March 19th yet is right up there.
What exactly about that post counts as ‘white-knighting’ to you?
We had a patch on tuesday. the patch notes were released on tuesday (albeit a little later than they should have). these facts are irrefutable.
If you think that pointing those things out is white-knight behavior then I do believe there may be no hope for you.

They didn’t get the changes they wanted = nothing was done, apparently.

They couldn’t even be bothered to release patch notes for that until the next day. Cope harder, fanboomer.
They might as well have not touched steady shot. It was a complete waste of a pull request.
But they did release them. So again, what patch notes are missing?
Releasing patch notes the day after you release a patch is such a terrible business practice, and you’re such a mind broken blizzdrone if you’re seriously defending this.
Your initial complaint was that the patch notes were missed again.

Yes, they released the last one a few hours later than we expected them. It happens, move on. No, this is not me defending them being late, because I don’t see a reason that it needs to be excused. The notes went live the day the patch did. Good enough.
