As the title stated I am unable to skip any part of the shadowlands campaigns. None of the NPC’s are giving me an option to skip like before when shadowlands was the active expansion.
Threads of Fate was disabled during pre-patch.
Yeah I realized threads of fate was disabled, but i thought there’d be some sort of skip in place like how you don’t have to do all of the BFA levelling quests to get to Nazjatar or Mechagon. Didn’t realize it was an intentional thing to have to replay shadowlands in its entirety to get to Zereth Mortis.
ToF was only disabled for sub-60 toons. I’ve used the skips on a fresh 60 as recently as a cpl weeks ago. I did have an established toon who is now 70 that only did bastion and I couldn’t get an option for ToF with him. Seems something is bugged or maybe not flagged correctly on Blizz end.
The current status (actual, no idea if it is what is intended) is:
Under level 60 - no skips, no Threads, begin campaign is only option
Level 60+ that has not been to SL - skips available
Level 60+ that has started SL content previously - no changes possible, if you started campaign you have to finish it.
The first two seem fine, the third is hopefully not intended.
It seems more like level 60, skips available no matter your current or prior SL progress. Level 61+, no skips.
I leveled a Dracthyr to 61 then tried to skip the SL content to get a covenant and access to Korthia, and did not have the option to skip.
Well I just did it on my level 64 Dracthyr and it went fine. Quest from SW, skip to Oribos, met by Fatescribe, offered Threads, sent to Tal Inara, chose covenant.
Did you try going to Oribos without the SL intro quest?
Yep, did it without the SL intro. Possible they fixed that portion of the skips, then.
Can your 64 access the Korthia and Zereth Mortis skips? Tal Inara should have the text for the ZM skip as soon as you’ve selected a covenant. Korthia requires you head to your covenant and get your first soulbind, first.
I think I wasn’t clear. I wasn’t saying “did you try it without the intro, because you should”, it was more of a “omg did you not do the intro, yikes”. Absolutely need to do these things in intended order or they will break. We’ve already had years of people taking the portal to Dalaran or Boralus without the appropriate starter quest and wondering why their Legion/BfA stuff doesn’t work right.
It will take a few minutes to check on my Drac that it can do the Korthia and ZM skips because I’ll have to fly to Ardenweald and run around a bit, but I expect it will be OK, everything else has been as expected so far.
[edit] Ok one unexpected thing. Completing covenant intro (including skip) and returning to Bolvar unlocks Torghast and Korthia intro, Bolvar offers Korthia skip which unlocks Call of the Primus, all as it was in SL so far.
But Tal Inara doesn’t offer the ZM skip. Definitely did on my level 60 prior to the patch. Can still proceed into ZM from the start but don’t really fancy doing that over.
So the question is is that a being over 60 thing, a changed in 10.0.5 thing, or being a Dracthyr thing. Too many variables. Oof. I can check a couple more but I will run out of level 60 test characters pretty soon.
I did the normal intro skip for SL, but still with the quest. No porting into Orbiros randomly.
From what you’re seeing, it sounds like they fixed the campaign skip and Korthia skip for 61+, but not the ZM skip. I took several level 60s through there in the past few weeks, and they all had the ZM skip offered by Tal Inara as soon as I picked a covenant. I didn’t even have to do the covenant intro first, just picked a covenant and he had the “Skip ahead and have Pocopoc unlocked” option.
