No one got High elves

The Alliance should get High Elves. End of story.

It’s something many players want, and should have been implemented long ago. So yea, people are going to continue to ask for them regardless of your tired troll attempts.

The Alliance already has High Elves, and has had them since the game launched. Sure, they’re not playable, but we do have them. Same with Horde having Ogres.

Now, the Horde also has former High Elves, and the Alliance has former High Elves who are also former Blood Elves. And both can dress up to look like High Elves now, too, so whatever.

True high elf reporting in!

With cross faction happening it barely even matters anymore. You can make a Blood Elf and play with your guild. Mind you, it’s not perfect and I hope they open up cross faction into WAAAY more features than they have planned, but it’s a start.

Even then Blizzard probably still ignore them with no Direct of their own, No Npcs along the Lower Levels Zones, No Starting Zone unless if they do but even then probably level 1 to 10 or shared with Void Elves with the Scenario, No Screentime on them because gotten have other two races like Night Elves and Humans or atleast Blood Elves because same thing to a decade since 2018 Play Horde for High Elves if you want story, and much more.

I know I’m sounding negative but it’s the sad reality of the truth with the Community, and Blizzard themselves for the last decades. If the Alliance had gotten High Elves we would have awesome class combos like Alliance Elven Paladins, and Druids by now instead of same copy of Blood Elves with the Classes, Tons of Variety of Hair Colors that isn’t limited, Hairstyles, Beards, Skin Tunes that should have been on the Player Characters by now from the Set Blood Elf High Elf Npc Skins of 5, their own racials that doesn’t turn you into a full blue effect everytime you go into combat, and much more.

Sadly what we get is what we have. Thankfully Turtle does a much better job at Content wise in Vanilla than Blizzard since they know how to do a Classic WoW Experience well.

Blood Elves are High Elves and have been playable since BC.

As a fan of High Elves I play them because they are the continuation of that narrative and legacy down to holding the kingdom, capital, and honoring their fallen.

Let it go.

The Alliance should have gotten high elves but we got the half-baked “middle ground” that is void elves that they then capitulated on and added some skins to, making nobody happy.

High elf fans didn’t get real high elves, void elf fans still don’t have expanded void customizations, blood elf fans lost their identity, and everyone is miserable.

However, adding high elves as their own race now would be a pointless waste. The ship has sailed. Just get over it.

Canonically, there is such a small number of “True High Elves” left that it does not make actual sense for them to be anything more than NPC’s.

If im remembering correctly, about 90% of the population of Silvermoon was slaughtered in the siege. Of the remaining 10%, a significant (unconfirmed number) was slaughtered in the reclamation forces under Garithos, 100 citizens in addition to an elite group of soldiers left with Kael Thas to outland, some stayed and attempted to rebuild Silvermoon, and some went to Dalaran because they refused to deal with the BS anymore and they needed help with their mana addiction.

The ones that left to Dalaran are the only “True High elves” who refused to be called the Sin’Dorei which Kael’thas as Crown Prince, and honestly defacto King after his father’s death, made the executive decision to rename the race of now a few thousand individuals?

So High Elves as we know them are done outside of the Dalaran group. There are the Blood Elves, which are called as such because they lost immortality for a little bit. The Void Elves who are exiled Blood Elves, and then all of the corrupted off shoots.

So no, when you break it down, it doesnt make sense for there to be High Elves, especially when both playable races are able to customize to be High Elves now.

Lorewise its essentially preventing you from being a mary sue and saying your character is a special snowflake of one of maybe 200 canonical characters and 200 is probably being generous.

A lot of these numbers are based purely on speculation and in game context

That whole argument kinda fell apart when they made a dozen blood elf scholars that touched the wrong box in a cave into an entire playable race.

  1. Blood Elves are literally high elves
ancestral population, ancestral home, ancestral culture
literally the only thing that has changed (aside from a more ruthless period immediately after the destruction of the Sunwell when they were to trying to adapt and survive) is they changed ‘high’/‘quel’dorei’ to 'blood/‘sin’dorei’- they’re the SAME people they always were- and their political affiliation. They’ve been playable since TBC
maybe not by the faction you’d prefer they be on, but we have what we have, and as others have mentioned, if they open up factions choices more, the day could well come when you can make a blood elf and pick Alliance, or you stay Horde and just choose to join a mainly Alliance guild if they DO open up cross-faction guilds.

  2. As ham-fisted and frankly baffling as their origin was (Why not just have had Vereesa and her Silver Covenant be the ones attacked by void ethereals drawn to Alleria during a meeting of the two sisters and have THEM be the ones infused with the void? It would make their automatic loyalty to the Alliance actually make sense and the results would still be the same), void elves, as literally former blood elves, are ALSO high elves.

  3. Once upon a time could it have been possible for Blizzard to make Silver Covenant/Quel’danil/Outland/Dalaran/Stormwind (whatever small population or multiple small population of Alliance-loyal high elves you might’ve preferred) high elves playable, preferably with a tweaked model to change the silhouette or reflect interbreeding with humans so they WOULDN’T be just a lazy copy and paste from blood elves? Of course. But with void elves being given natural hair, skin and eye colors that ship has well and truly sailed at this point so my advice would be to play with the toys you’ve already been given and stop beating a horse that’s so dead at this point it has a permanent stall in a Brill stable.

I’ll give you that because as I was typing it was like “damn someone is probably gonna call me about Void Elves”

However, I believe a large group of Void Elves also were trapped with Alleria which again kind of muddles the entire anti mary sue argument as well because it also makes them snowflakes but
theres reason why they arent an actual race

Basically this. Nothing else needs to be said about it.

Alliance technically has high elves, and even the customization options to reflect that properly. They will probably even add more customization in the future.

Look good, feel good and time to move on.
