Who’s going to join me in boycotting the next expansion if blizzard doesn’t make a new freaking class to play?
Seriously, it’s past due. Tons of great possibilities. Battlemage/priest, Bard, Shadowhunter, etc.
If not a new class, there needs to AT.LEAST be a tank in every armor class.
Does the game really need a new class? They struggle to balance the ones we have.

Why would you quit the game for not getting a class you know nothing about.
What if I told you there’s no such thing as balancing the classes. There never has been. Certain classes have always out-performed others, and blizzard isn’t going to change that. What they can do is create more variety in content for people to experiment with instead of pretending to create content with filler-quests, mini-games, and pet battles.
Why do you want followers?

People have NEVER collectively said the game was balanced. People say classes are broken in Classic and TBC.
With this attitude we might as well have no classes. Make everyone a Warrior.

TBH I’d like to see a new profession before a new class.
At it stands, my BS has to gear three toons, my Tailor has to gear three toons and my LW has to gear six. I’d take a mailsmith and give them the ability to make bardings to go in the new mount gear slot.

Blizzard has added 3 new classes since launch, and people play em. Because they are fun, and a good addition to the game. So there is your answer.
Well, alright, but you’re answering a question nobody was asking: “Why do people want a new class added?” I didn’t ask that. I asked if the game needs a new class. Is there some critical void that’s not being filled be the other classes? I don’t think so.

The entitlement in the OP is real.
There’s no “due” to begin with. They get created and added when it makes logical sense for the story.
I don’t think they would risk a third xpac in a row without a new class.
Plenty of people either reroll to the newest thing for variety or minimally make an alt out of it. We will see how they handle it (if you start from 1 or 45…but even monks started at 1 and people rerolled).
I would be pretty shocked if you didn’t see a new class in 10.0.
Here’s one aspect of current classes that I find rather boring and repetitive, regardless of which one you play. There’s always only ever one button being pushed at a time. GCD and rotations make it mind-numbingly simple. 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, 4, 3, etc ad nauseum.
What if they made something like a bard class that had to carry a beat or “play” a song with their abilities. What if you had to cast spells simultaneously like strumming a stringed instrument and the better you did it, the more powerful your spells were (or the more powerful you made those around you).
