I’m hoping they’re instead improving all the existing classes to add better identity to them. Classes all feel rather bland and have for a while.

But that’s to imply that classes have never been interesting. In my opinion, classes started to lose their originality around WoD. Prior to that, class design was actually pretty decent. I think with the lack of a new class it will allow resources to improve existing classes.

It looks like they are trying fixing the mess that classes are now and reverting changes that broke them. This is much better utilization of developer time than implementing a new class.
We can only wait and see.

In what way? No reworked class systems, no new talents, same 7 talents. We are getting legendaries and covenant abilities which is just another expansion gimmick.

The “feature” of Shadowlands seems to be more along the lines of improving classes as a whole, rather than simply introducing a new one and giving minor updates to each class.
They’re announcing all the class changes and whatnot tomorrow IIRC.

Well they said they are going to be moving abilities out of specs and back into the base class. They said they are going to possibly restore new abilities. Talents get reworked every expansion so they can put more thought into it. With fewer levels, the choices here can have more meaning.
Supposedly, you’ll be able to learn multiple abilities with your covenant based on the covenant and the soulbinds you choose. There was more in the panel and they will talk more tomorrow. Like I said, We can only wait and see.

I do think they got a lot in store for tomorrow and the not so free to watch deep dives and panels. They need to make people who buy a VT feel as if they got their monies worth.

Didn’t that Shadowlands Leak say there was a new Class called Tinker? I was thinking they would say something about classes tomorrow at 11.

Ion discussed this today but couldn’t go into detail, he said he’d go further into detail tomorrow about class fantasy, instead of sticking to a spec fantasy. 
they gave us classic so yeah, they will.
They skip the really bad expansions. (see WoD)
They’ve tried the “class fantasy” thing for a couple of expansions now. They haven’t been able to figure that one out yet.
