I am very frustrated with the game, and with the game masters that addressed my ticket I submitted about this. Here’s what happened, I read the guide on how to obtain the new jellyfish mount from Hirukon in Zerith Mortis. I sat in that pond fishing for 6 hours. I got the strange goop to drop on around my 1400th fish. I was so excited because once you get the goop, you just have to go to Vashj in Maldraxxus, then go and get a few items from old world zones and bring them back to her to get the lure needed to fish Hirukon out of his hiding hole. I did said tasks and obtained the lure, I took it back to the pond in Zerith Mortis and used the lure. A school appeared in the pond and I cast my line in it, caught a fish, and sure enough Hirukon started to emerge from the underwater cave. My group helped me kill the monster, and when I looted it, i did not get the mount. I did my research beforehand and everything I read said that if I was the person that fished him out with the lure, the mount is guaranteed to drop for me, but not for the others attacking it. I have also observed this in game since there were 4 other people that fished him up while I was still farming for the goop, and each one got on the mount and flexed on us after killing it. So when I didnt get the mount in the loot window the first thing I did was check the mail, no mount there either. So I submitted a ticket, and I have to say I’m very disappointed in the game masters that replied. I feel like none of them understood the issue, or if they did, they were just trying to brush it off and tell me it was no error. I received 4 replies total about this while going back and forth with the GMs and I ended up just giving up. The GMs are not providing the support I needed. Not that they were giving me an answer that was correct but I just didn’t want to hear, but they were just giving me wrong information. Here is my original ticket message:
“I farmed the Strange Goo item from the new zone today, it took me over 4 hours and 1400+ casts to get the goo. Once i did all the steps with lady vashj, i received the lure to summon Hirukon. I used the lure and summoned him, fought him and my group killed him but I did not receive the mount when i looted him. i checked my mailbox and it wasn’t there either. nobody else got the mount either, and since i was the one that used the lure and fished the school i should have gotten the mount :(”
I will summarize the rest of the replies. The first GM that replied told me that this was actually intended and said that I can see here that it says the mount is not guaranteed to drop… and linked the wowhead comments page for the mount item…
Now I already had a problem with a GM using wowhead comments that can be written by anyone as concrete info on how the game is supposed to work and basing their reply on comments from random players. Anyway, I replied that there might be some confusion and that the comments actually state that the person that summons the mount is actually guaranteed to get the drop (so the link they provided is already contradicting what they told me). I told them I summoned it, i was not just a random person attacking it and so i should have gotten the mount.
I got a reply from a different GM and they literally didn’t listen to anything i said in the last message because they linked the same article and copy+pasted the same sentence from the last person about it is intended and there is only a chance for it to drop the mount and also copy+pasted the same link the last person did.
Obviously I felt like they weren’t getting what i was trying to tell them, or maybe were not wanting to deal with it so were telling me it is intended for the mount to not drop, all the while linking me to a comment that says IT IS guaranteed drop. So i sent another reply and this is where i started getting pretty frustrated. I pointed out how silly it sounded that the development team intended you to farm a 1/1500 drop chance strange goop, and then after you finally get it, you have another layer of rng to get a small drop rate mount from the mob it summons, and also pointed out that the links they were giving me were NOT supporting their claims that it is intended, but supports what I said and that it should be a 100% drop for the person summoning it.
A 3rd GM replied to this one, and at this point I could feel that the GM team was trying to push me away to some other department so they didnt have to deal with me. I was told that the GMs are not able to make changes to the structure of the game and that i would need to reach out to the dev team.
This irritated me because I am not asking for a change to the game, I’m not complaining about a low drop rate item not dropping. I’m complaining about a 100% drop rate item that should have dropped but didn’t. So I again replied and said i understand GMs cant make changes to the game like that, but I am only asking for help fixing something that happened, that shouldn’t have, based off how the game is already supposed to work and again pointed out that the comments they are linking to me only prove my point that i should get the mount since i summoned the mob.
The last reply was from a 4th person who identified themselves as a “Specialist Game Master” rather than just Game master, but basically again brushed me to the side telling me this is a dev team issue.
I decided not to reply again at all because I can tell I’m being ignored (as much as possible, only barely short of not replying to the ticket at all) and decided to make this post. I feel like these GMs were either not interested in helping me, or were just not good at understanding the problem and knowing how to help a player. This post may not get any traction or attention, but I am frustrated with the service i received and im finding it hard to keep playing a game with such bad customer support.
