I solved gold issue by service sale. I gave up the dream of full production alliance and horde. 3 transfers and faction changes And now alliance is richer for it lol.
And if I need moar gold its swap out 85’s all night long for dailies, all profits to the same bank alt.
Still have a grobb horde char, but they exist to see its pvp sometimes lol. Honor vendor gear is all they need. they can be poor.
Dude, OP is talking about buying tokens for GAME TIME, not to sell for gold. Yikes.

If players don’t need tokens for gold to sell on AH, people who buy them for sub time have no tokens.
Since it seems blizzard does not inject them into system. or do it very sparingly. Since op says the market is dry.

DOuble edged sword if the token market isnt manipulated. that means the players buying gold from them quit and us players that refuse to buy subs/gold are now subjected to becoming the buyers or quitting.
There are Tokens on AH currently, not sure why its not working for you.
True. But there is the 3rd option of people who jsut buy the say 6 months block anyway, make gold in game and just play. time will tell who was the bigger of these populations I guess.
Playing armchair analyst…at this point the game is not dangling bait to need money. I won’t say cata is dying, but its clear its not a packed house.
My guess is less players are rushing to ah to get the BOE’s for raid. Or had the gold on the bank alt already. we had a long phase to grind up gold the old fashioned ways.

I can’t ding blizzard there too much. I do work in IT. I’ve had servers in clusters made the same way. all are the same since a cluster. Name and IP, the only difference.
4/5 of them patch fine. Same patch load. And the 5th one goes…bet you were expecting an easy day. Guess again…

Tokens are server specific? Can’t be because my dead server has token in AH and a checked a high pop server and there’s tokens there, same price.
As for 'why buy tokens instead of pay $15/mo?" I bought 3 tokens yesterday because gold has no other use on a dead server, already have everyone with fast flying. Four toons doing 22-25 dailies/day (FM, TH, Uldum) adds up.
Also, inflation. Back on retail, if I bought tokens in WoD when I made over 2m gold running garrison gold missions on all my alts before they patched it. Had I bought wow tokens I could have got them 30k-33k each. Right now a retail wow token is 271k each. Right now just going off 1.5m, that gets me 5.5 tokens instead of what could have been 50 tokens.
